Birth Place: Prague Zoo, Czech Republic
Arrival: 2018/3/15
Death: 2023/7/18

Since his death, Taipei now has 2.4.0 Malayan Tapirs.

6 (3.3.0) Edward's Pheasants (Lophura edwardsi) are ready to be transfered to Tapiei Zoo from Prague Zoo. It took 2 years to achieve this.

Yes, unfortunately many cases of bird flu in Czechia over last years made obtaining import permit from Taiwanese authorities not easy. Hopefully now everything continues smooth.

The death reason of Budak Puntja was acute pulmonary edema, he also had chronic pneumonia in pulmonary pleurae.

Renewed pheasant area will be officially opened on 28 October. There will be Palawan Peacock-pheasant (Polyplectron napoleonis), Edward's Pheasant (Lophura edwardsi), Swinhoe's Pheasant (Lophura swinhoii), Ring-necked Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus formosanus), Great Argus (Argusianus argus argus), Violet Turaco (Tauraco violaceus), Nicobar Pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica), Mikado Pheasant (Syrmaticus mikado), and Taiwan Bamboo-patridge (Bambusicola sonorivox) there at least.

Taipei is negotiating with introducing 2 male Grevy's Zebras (Equus grevyi), and 1 male Chapman's Zebra (Equus quagga chapmani) from Japan. The Grevy's Zebras would be coming from Kyoto City Zoo and Nogeyama Zoological Gardens, and the Chapman's Zebra would be coming from Adventure World. The staffs will also visit JAZA to negotiate with the conservation plans of Crested Argus (Rheinardia ocellata ocellata), Bali Myna (Leucopsar rothschildi), and Red Panda (Ailurus styani).
