Planet Zoo Planet Zoo!

Probably something to fit the fall Aesthetic.
I’m thinking the Temperate pack with
Tasmanian Devil
North Island Brown Kiwi
North American Elk OR Reeves Muntjac
Patagonian Mara
Japanese Giant Salamander
in the forum, everybody is speculating that it will be something like a temperate or woodlands pack, if we're gonna get a temperate pack, then it should be like this:
American Black
Bear
Mute Swan
Tasmanian Devil
Wild Boar
Thick-Billed Parrot(WE)

if woodlands:
American Toad(E)
Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
Sloth Bear
Impala
Eurasian Otter

Hope it’s the fall asethetic as I was just thinking about a pack that coincides with Thanksgiving or a similar theme. My animal predictions for a scenery pack of this type with reasons:

American Black Bear - Flagship animal, bear species that can be mixed with other carnivores like timber wolves as IRL, comes in many color morphs and variations and gives us one of the few large NA megafauna missing from the game.
Southern Pudu - HS representation, and a unique one as a smaller deer species in a year where we’ve gotten a lot of representation from this taxa, new South American animal and represents the temperate forests of the continent.
Mute Swan - European representation, gives us a new type of large bird not currently in the game in waterfowl, and can be very versatile in how it’s exhibited.
Raccoon Dog - Asian representation, small canid which is unique as we only have foxes for this category, can also climb which is unique and comes in a number of color variations.

Standard Exhibit: Eastern Box Turtle - With the desert horned viper added in the last DLC I think Frontier is starting to add more reptiles to the exhibit roster which is something that’s sorely needed. The EBT is a very popular temperate species that fits in the current exhibit and gives us a new small turtle species.

Walkthrough Exhibit: Sugar Glider - Any species of squirrel or squirrel-like marsupial would be my ideal choice for a WTE for a temperate pack as they’re almost synonymous to the biome. I went with the sugar glider because with its gliding ability it could be a potentially more reasonable for than a typical squirrel species.

I want an Islands pack with:
Tasmanian Devil (Tasmania)
Javan Banteng (Java)
Goodfellows Tree Kangaroo (Papau New Guinea)
Any of the Sifaka species (Madagascar)
Sumatran Tiger (Sumatra)

Exhibit species - Tuatara (New Zealand)

I second this, though personally I'd swap the Sumatran Tiger for something else given we already have two ssp. I'd probably go Brown Kiwi as my top replacement.

I would also like to see an Islands pack with:

- Cocqurel's Sifaka or Aye-Aye
- Tasmanian Devil
- Philippines Spotted Deer
- Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
- Lowland Anoa or Javan Banteng
- Visiyan Warty Pig
- Panther Chameleon or Tuatara (exhibit)

All of these mammals apart from Tasmanian Devil feature at Chester Zoo and I would like to one day re-create this place on Planet Zoo.

I’m going to go against an islands idea and opt for a highlands idea. Think about it, if you get deserts animals in a hot environment, why not go somewhere colder like a mountain chain.

Habitat Animals
North Island Brown Kiwi
Takahē Second Pick
Tajik Markhor
Aoudad Second Pick
Rocky Mountain Elk
Thorold’s Deer
Gelada
Guinea Baboon Replacement

Exhibit Animal(s):
Stationary:
Tuatara

Walkthrough:
(If they add birds):
Mountain Parakeet
Common Mynah
(If they don’t):
Rock Hyrax

Probably because the next DLC will be in December? Why release a mountain or polar pack now and then likely have to release something similar in 3 months.

But based on the 'mixing' hint in the announcement I too am on the mocktails train of thought and thinking Islands. Islands was a heavy front runner prior to arid so I see no reason Frontier would abandon the concept. North America has basically had three dedicated packs and essentially has all the staples (moose, grizzly, cougar, NA beaver, alligator, timber wolf, bison, raccoon, polar bear, reindeer, pronghorn) AND several oddball/unexpected additions too (prairie dog, skunk, red fox, arctic fox, arctic wolf, dall sheep). That's more than most regions have where many staples are still missing. I'd gamble on a potential American Black Bear (pretty much the only staple missing) anniversary gift too.

If it is an island I'd guess:

1. Tasmanian Devil (it would be a troll not to, even if I'm not particularly excited by it. I think it does deserve inclusion too).

2. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo (another high wishlister, a rather unique species and more Oceanian representation).

3. Aye-Aye (another extremely unique species and reasonably high on the wishlist, arguably the last major ommission from Madagascar).

4. Sulawesi Crested Black Macaque (We need more monkeys and this is a very common zoo species and very different to the aye-aye which I think enables two primates in one pack).
OR
4. Radiated Tortoise (a unique and smaller tortoise, fairly common in zoos and a conservation story).
OR
4. Bernier's Teal (another Madagascar possibility, again common in zoos and I'm sure a waterfowl would be well received).

A handful of other options include:
- Lowland Anoa
- Visayan Warty Pig
- Coquerel's Sifaka

Exhibit: maybe Fijian banded iguana?

To go with this pack I'd go for either a Caribbean 'shanty theme of vibrant colours and corrugated pieces or an Pacific Island set, again colourful inspirations from places like Fiji.

hey guys, good morning, today planet zoo posted on twitter, a teaser of the new update, it looks like something like a bubble viewing or something like that, i just know that this is very common in meerkat and prairie dog enclosures.

With this, I hope we get a small mammals pack, and hopefully a mongoose or a primate

Yes there are plenty of smaller animals already in the game that would suit a bubble dome in their enclosure like Meerkats, Otters, Prairie Dogs, Aardvarks, Porcupines, even maybe Tortoises and more.

I would like to see more for the bubble dome like a Banded or Dwarf Mongoose, Bush Dog, maybe even Kirk's Dik-Dik or Southern Pudu but would feel those 2 are quite shy.

From what I could gather during the livestream; I do think that it is most likely that we’ll see each of the following animals being introduced in this semi-confirmed “Island” Pack:

Tasmanian Devil,
Quokka,
North Island Brown Kiwi,
Walrus OR Little Blue Penguin.

As for the exhibit animal, I believe that either an unspecified Lorikeet or perhaps, the Orchid Mantis and/or some kind of chameleon would be my best guess. Preferably, I would consider the lorikeet; but I also wouldn’t mind having the mantis or chameleon being the official exhibit animal instead.

Ngl I'll be a little underwhelmed with the current predicted roster. Although I only think the tassie and kiwi are anywhere near accurate.

All are pretty rare in Western zoos and while I respect that the Tasmanian Devil probably deserves a spot in the roster as an icon (felt much the same about the Platypus, didn't want it but respected its inclusion), I can't help but feel like this pack just won't be for me. I won't use the Tasmanian Devil very much at all. I stand by the kiwi being an awful choice for a new bird (rare in captivity, limited design options for an enclosure, little to no interspecies options etc.). Can't see a point where I ever use a little blue penguin (the rockhopper seems more likely to me though) and likewise the quokka won't be used.

I'd much rather had an islands pack with tropical and common species like the goodfellow's tree kangaroo, Sulawesi black macaque, aye-aye, radiated tortoise, Bernier's teal, lowland anoa, Visayan warty pig etc. A greater expansion to our island zones. A load of niche Australian animals will be a dream for a small subset of players, but a lot will be largely uninterested.
