WRS Mandai expansion plans

@Zooish Couple questions:
  • Not sure if you posted this earlier, but what is the timeline for the completion of the Mandai Project?
  • I'm also debating between the zoo, River Wonders and the Night Safari in the winter, leaning towards River Wonders in the day and Night Safari at, well, night. What would be the best way of going about it if I was spending 1-3 days in Singapore?

As mentioned by @CGSwans you could do all 3 parks in a day if the weather holds up. River Wonders only takes about 3 hours to complete (if there are no lines for the pandas, boat ride).

Current estimated timeline for the Mandai project:
Bird Paradise - Q1 2023
Rainforest Wild - 2024
Indoor Nature Attractions - 2024
Hotel - 2023/2024

Also when are the new habitats for Tasmanian devils and kiwis gonna open?

I don't know what's going on with the Devils' arrival; seems to be in limbo. Likewise the arrival of the Kiwi is uncertain. Last i heard its due to upstream issues.

My personal experience (in 2019):
Zoo: 9am to 2:45pm
River Safari: 3pm to 5:30pm
Night Safari: after 7pm

It will be tiring though, especially i imagine for someone who doesn't cope with the tropical climate that well.

Do you have any plans to add Aye-Ayes to Night Safari? And could you please provide a list of species planned for future additions at Mandai?

There were plans to acquire Aye-aye but i'm not sure if it is still happening. Okapi should be arriving later this year/early next year. There are also plans to acquire Sifaka and more Philippine species for Rainforest Wild.

Thank you. Where do you predict the Okapi will come from? And will the Sifaka be from the Duke Lemur Center?

I thought I glimpsed Okapi on the Night Safari earlier this week, but there was no commentary on them, I thought I must of imagined it.

Aside from okapis and the lemur walkthrough, I’m not sure what they’ll add but they already have these African rainforest species that could potentially be moved here like bongos, red river hogs, hippos, monkeys, etc, wouldn’t expect as many new species for RW. Bonobos and Congo buffalo would be amazing to have and I’d love for the return of mandrills, duikers and African dwarf crocodiles

A little late but here's Mandai's official press release for future attractions. TLDR:
  • Many new indoor educational facilities
  • A new Mandai resort
  • Species confirmed so far for Rainforest Wild: Malayan tigers, sun bears, Francois' langurs, pygmy hippos and okapis
  • Rainforest Wild Asia ends with a 220 m limestone cavern based on the Mulu Caves in Sarawak housing reptiles and invertebrates
  • No info on any opening date for Rainforest Wild yet.
