thank you ashley, i have been sayin this in the thread but people have denied it, it just depends how big this group is that is being put together

They could do it but to alter it to take bulls now would cost more than it did to build it when it was new and in that cost you have the Giraffe part as well.
 
Hmm, why not get a pure bred subspecies as oppsed to the almost certainly un-pure Bengal's they'd aquire?
And is there any news on the african elephant batchelor group mentioned on this thread?
 
God, I hope their don't get elephants, big cats is bad enough. Based on standards I've seen in the gallery, an escape is almost imminent.
 
Saw the new Tiger enclosure it looks like its been built to the same high standards of the rest of the park so it should be awful it looks to be a smaller area than Chesters Lion enclosure and they plan to keep 5 Tigers in it.
 
Are you joking? Chesters enclosure id only big enough for 2 lions and no more (IMO).
They can't seriously be planning to keep them in that area?! It's bad enough that they're getting 5 as it is!
I guess it's all ok though because god is on their side :rolleyes::mad:

Just to sidetrack briefly, but i think Chester's lion enclosure is suitable for 1.2 (and offspring) but the indoors could do with an upgrade.

Really can't belive Noah's is going to exhibit "safari park numbers" of tigers in a small enclosure. Gobsmacked!
 
Which links back to my statement about their elephant plans. If they keep 5 individuals in the same proportions, then I imagine some serious issues. I still don't know why they were allowed BIAZA membership.

Seriously though, their elephant plans sounded good (7 acre enclosure, 7000 sqm barn), but we all know what the building work will turn out like.
 
And even if they do get elephants, I'd be going to places like Howletts and Whipsnade to see them where it's professional, and, as far as I'm getting, safe.

Although they could still shock us. However I can't see the elephants happening for some reason, give them to the NWCP instead lol

I think this is the general feeling about Noahs zoo. Granting membership doesnt necessarily mean widespread approval. By letting them in, BIAZA may (just may) have some influence over the standards that Noahs sets for its collection. Noahs doesnt need to be in or have to listen to BIAZA.
 
If the tiger enclosure is the size of Chester's lion enclosure, and they are intending to keep both Bengals and Amurs, i'm presuming they would be out on a rotational basis unless the Amurs are not going to be pure and they are going to be mixed? Surely a non breeding pair would have been more suited to the zoo so that they could accustomise themselves with tigers instead of aquiring breeding animals? I can sense major problems, and cross breeding of tigers!
 
The area is split in to what looks like being 4 outdoor enclosures run from 1 central house so they should be able to keep them apart.As for BIAZA membership believe they are Associate members and not full yet,seeing as they are still selling animals direct to the public cannot see how they can be granted full membership to BIAZA.

I agree I don't understand how they get to become a full membership after they joined in a year. As I am concerned that they have four keepers even though handling with large animals and the staff don't have the full training!

Any news on this? has anyone been lately or heard of any up dated building work? It still annoys me that they're being trusted with tigers, their meerkat enclosure is barely acceptable :rolleyes:
 
When i was there in early march they had got all the wooden fence poles in,and they had the concrete base for the house down but had not started work on the house or putting any of the fence up.
 
I am planning on a visit this Friday , will report back on developments .
