I’ve seen the announcement that the new African wild dog and hippo lodges are available to start booking. I believe both are getting new enclosures, and from the concept art it looks like they might be next to each other - but if that’s the case I can’t work out how they’re going to fit them in. Does anyone know more about where they’re going ?
It looks impressive doesn't it. The Hippos will love their new poolHippos are getting the land behind them on the former giraffe and ungulate houses. They have grazing land and new bathing pool. The current river is to be drained aerated and filtered and then refilled with a new pump to removed the hippos effect on the rest of the river system. Wild dogs will be next to this on the former rhino house and yard.

Drain the swamp...!
At long last they are doing something about this. I'm not sure if this means the hippos will again have access to this river area or not though I read it as they will?

It’s certainly an interesting change, I’m not sure if it’s too child-friendly or not, though at least they’ve removed the ‘Leisure Park’ bit of the title. In any case, I’m sure I’ll warm to it, Chester’s rebrand was somewhat contentious on here when it happened and now it’s so iconic it’s hard to imagine Chester without it.
That sounds amazing and it means there will be 4 elephants at West Midlands Safari ParkPairi Daiza Zoo has announced that African female elephants Suzy (40) and Gutana (43) will transfer to West Midland Safari Park later this year.
