Miniature Animal Figure Collection

I agree, I've felt Schleich has been dropping the ball on the quality of their newer wildlife figures, they don't look as good as the old ones do. However as the company seems to be focusing more and more on licensed lines, it is perhaps not unexpected that their less important lines are getting less attention to detail. Sad, but seems to be what's happening.
Yes indeed, for instance look at the new vs old flamingo model!

A very good example for sure. They're continuing to put out some largely unrepresented species though, such as the Caracal and Japanese Macaque, so it's particularly disappointing to see the quality decline on those uniquer models. Still though, they're better models than some other brands out there!

Been a while since I last posted any photos in here - that doesn't mean I haven't been collecting in the meantime though! :D
So anyways,

And more to come, hopefully sooner than later, if a certain photography trick works as hoped!

Yes I mean the snub-nosed monkey, I've just always assumed it was a baboon.

Did you not know most figures have identification printed on them along with the copyrighting? If you check along the underside of the tail, "Snub-nosed Monkey" is printed there in small raised letters. Most companies mark their figures that way, no matter the figure size.

Does anyone here know where I could find a Schleich scaled Bighorn Sheep and Pronghorn?

Also, does anyone here know if Safari LTD's Indian Rhino is Collecta scaled? I want an Indian Rhino to go with my Collecta White Rhino, African Elephant, Asian Elephant, and Hippo

Going by scale can be a little tricky, and I've generally found even within a certain brand the scaling tends to flux. For the most part the main animal brands tend to run pretty close to each other in terms of overall size.

Far as Pronghorn and Bighorn, they've both been done by a couple brands but I don't believe any are currently in production. You can find some options searching online though.

I don't have any of the CollectA pachyderms to directly compare to the Indian Rhino to say for sure, but I'd imagine it should be pretty close.

The Collecta figures are great because usually they’re more likely to be in scale (or close enough anyway). For large herbivores Collecta is my go to while Schleich is my go to for big cats, small and medium hoof stock, etc. I’ll post some pics comparing Collectas hoof stock to Schliechs in the thread. Different species, but both companies make their respective counterparts the same sizes anyways.

For anyone curious about Schleich and Collecta’s rhinos, elephants, and hippos side by side. You can’t tell from the pics but in person the difference in size is night and day. Nice to have figs that aren’t the size of lions or zebras (*cough* *cough* Schleich).

Schleich generally seems to run on the smaller side just in overall size, for whatever reason.
For example, top to bottom here is Schleich, Papo, Safari:

New member here. I have a collection of animals, Britain's Ltd and Schleich. I'm only interested in African animals and I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a trade? I could certainly do a two for one if that sounds like a good idea to anyone. I will post photos if anyone expresses an interest.

Some of the Britain's Ltd animals I would be willing to trade.
