Not sure why they transferred the hammerhead sharks, aren't they planning on breeding them? Or is that part of that?

To be clear, the two manatees that arrived from ZT are off site and will be released when they fatten up. It's amusing how many people on the Georgia Aquarium facebook are guessing that these are Romeo and Juliet from Miami Seaquarium.

I do not believe there were any plans to breed them, as I'm pretty sure they're all males.
I was told that some of the aquariums females were getting beat up a bit by males wanting to mate, so that could be a reason they offloaded the extra males to SeaWorld Orlando to lessen the breeding aggression, as female Great Hammerheads take longer to reach sexual maturity. I think the aquarium wants to breed them eventually at least, dunno about sea world's future plans

yesterday, 1.0 Beluga Whale Nunavik arrived back from Sea World Orlando

I was at both collections in January, in Georgia they said one of the males at Orlando was the dad of Whisper through AI, is this Nunavik? Also when I was in Orlando they only had two, what's going on there?

No, Whisper is 25 years old and Nunavik is 14 years old.
Shila, Whisper's daughter, was conceived naturally at SeaWorld Orlando, before Whisper move to GA and her father is Naluark (also dad of Nunavik).

I’ve got names mixed up there then. So I had a tour and they were explaining how the AI process worked and they had sperm sent from Orlando for insemination due to not having their own male at the time. I was telling them about going to Orlando straight after and they said that male was there.

Does this transfer therefore mean that the AI process didn’t take? Since now until May is breeding season, and Nunavik had a fast introduction to the pod.

In some absolutely tragic news, the Aquarium announced the passing of their President and CEO, Brain Davis. Dr. Davis was an exceptional educator in the zoo and aquarium field before taking the position at Georgia Aquarium, as well as a past Chair of the AZA Board of Directors (and, on a personal note, just an all around wonderful guy). His passing is a tremendous loss.

I'm not real big on touch tanks, but I'm still glad to see my home aquarium tweaking and updating. I really need to get back there and see the shark tank before the tiger is gone...
