At this point it is all speculation. Whether they are doing the exhibit refresh just to clean it up while they have the opportunity or they are switching species for a period of time has not been announced.
The only guidance we have are the Animal Lives with Purpose document, which references aiming for 1.1 Komodos and adding an outdoor area for them. This document is from 2020. Additionally the master plan does include Komodo Dragons in the plan.
That all being said these are just plans so as of right now we don't have any confirmation on the future of the species, rather speculation. Personally I think they will try and replace Kilat as it is a very iconic species.
