Welt der Gifte (Salzburg) Welt der Gifte Salzburg - News and Discussion

Sadly it didn't say anything about adults who get excited going from venomous species to species o_O:p
Funny enough, we're actually offering an "adults only" special guided tour on the first of May. It's almost completely booked out and will include not Laboratory 7, but Laboratory 12, aka Kamera.

Interesting might have to see if the lab will let me escape for a visit then

Good luck; you're a bit late to the party, and it’s quite a walk from the UK to Austria ... So many have heralded their coming, yet only a few truly brave ZooChatters have so far dared to visit WdG.;)

Very true also might need a passport to reach you, not sure how a lab animal gets one of them :pbut don't worry if and when I sort it I will visit and actually turn up :D

Thanks guys. Access via PC/Laptop or mobile phone?
When I posted before it was from my work computer. After birdsandbats said he only got English pages I thought maybe it was something to do with it being my work computer (for certain sites it doesn't recognise, like German ones, it asks if I really want to go there because it might violate my work conditions), but I just tried it now on my home laptop and same thing. Additionally, when I go to the English page for tickets (using the drop-bar at the top of the page) the ticket page is partly in English and partly in German.

I have contacted my IT guy to change the connection.

Additionally, when I go to the English page for tickets (using the drop-bar at the top of the page) the ticket page is partly in English and partly in German.
That's an issue we're aware of but so far couldn't fix.

Tabs should work now. Thanks for the check & feedback!

Yes, all works fine now.

Additionally, when I go to the English page for tickets (using the drop-bar at the top of the page) the ticket page is partly in English and partly in German.
And now the ticket page from the drop-bar is fully in English, so that is fixed too (perhaps it was connected to the other links going to the German pages?).

While families with children are our bread and butter, it's also a lot of fun to have all-adult visitor groups at WdG. That's why we're offering an "Adults Only" special guided tour at WdG this 1st of May. Apparently, the public interest is there, given that the tour is already booked out and featured in an article of a local newspaper.
Für diese Führung durch die Welt der Gifte in Salzburg muss man über 18 sein

Oh, and I also got a pair of juvenile Milos vipers (Macrovipera schweizeri) today. Noice!

Excellent - I seem to recall you've been hoping to get that species for a while.

Not that I blame you; as you know I've got a definite soft spot for European native species!

Yeah. They are not of the beautiful orange colour that I originally wanted, but beggars can't be choosers, and I have enough other reddish snakes.:D The species is currently quite hard to get.

This might not win me any favours, but: what is it with English people and skipping appointments?
Update: I had a lovely young English lady visiting WdG yesterday. I mentioned the issue with English notoriously skipping appointments, and she wholeheartedly agreed with me, both in regard to her experience with private and occupational/formal appointments.
Granted, she also revealed that one of her parents was originally from Germany - which might make her more mindful of that matter. ;)

Our Asian vine snake (Ahaetulla prasina) that @TeaLovingDave had the pleasure to see during his visit has now left its quarantine holding and is now officially on display at WdG, making us one of very few zoos in Europe keeping the species.
