How do they get from their original cage- the one with the modern outside area, to the other enclosures?Looks like the white naped mangabey will have the remaining enclosures opposite the Gorrilas vacated by the Sulawesi black macaque move. One was already in use as an extension to the existing connected mangabey enclosures and the others had signage up.

Okay, its just the outside cages at the rear of the same block then?It must be via the inside areas ,

The bill that would allow a longer lease to be granted is progressing through parliament stages.
Well there are two indoor and two (linked) outdoor enclosures that were empty. previously the mangabey had two indoor and the large outdoor area so it looks like access to all the indoor areas can be controlled inside.
By which I mean the cages in any one block, not between blocks...Yes, I think those enclosures were built/designed so that species could be swapped around by internal access to the different cages in each block.
Interesting to note, too, that the King's father, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was President of the Zoological Society of London for eighteen consecutive years 1960 - 1977.The ZSL has just announced HM King Charles III as its new Royal Patron. Royal support for the Society has a long history - every monarch since William IV (in 1830) has held this position, so it's very pleasing to see this tradition continued.
Probably the easiest option, considering Brexit is still messing with some animal imports. Though I'm not sure how many sengi Chester has currently.
Meet The Neighbours Aviary now has the follow new birds: Madagascar crested ibis, Violaceous Turaco and White crowned robin chat.
Meet the Neighbours is the aviary at the entrance to Gorilla Kingdom. As you can infer by the name, it is supposed to introduce visitors to the wildlife of Central African rainforests before showing you the gorillas themselves. It is a type of enclosure that I would love to see more zoos use to theme their exhibits.Chester currently only have one sengi left, not sure on the gender though.
Where abouts is this aviary, and what other species reside in it? I am a huge bird fan, so it would be great to know.
Also sorry for replying to things from so long ago: for some reason the notifications didn't show up.
You’re quite right - the Hoopoes, which came from Bristol after it closed, are the birds that I was forgetting, although I have never seen them.Oh okay, I remember going in there actually, although not much was about: only the Violet Turacos and Snowy Crowned Robin Chat. Supposedly (according to signage) there's a Hoopoe in there two.
Thanks @Kalaw
