One of the young Asian elephant bulls, Chuck, will be leaving in a few weeks for another TBA zoo to become a breeding bull. He is the first to “graduate” from Denver’s bull program.
Good Luck, Chuck! - Denver Zoo
Chuck has arrived in Houston. The link clearly states that he is headed for the Houston Zoo.
The most recent timeframe I could find is spring 2024, but that is likely no longer happening based on the lack of publicity for it's opening.I hope it's not a bother that I'm asking questions instead of posting news, but I am going to Denver on June 17th. Any idea when the new Down Under exhibit will be open for the public?

I mean the map states that it will open this month, but who knows if that’s accurate? The most recent timeframe I could find is spring 2024, but that is likely no longer happening based on the lack of publicity for it's opening.
It should be open to the public by the end of this month!I hope it's not a bother that I'm asking questions instead of posting news, but I am going to Denver on June 17th. Any idea when the new Down Under exhibit will be open for the public?

Thank you for drawing attention to this. I really loved the map from my previous visit. I didn't realize what an improvement this version was until I zoomed in - amazing to see they included the interior of Tropical Discovery! I don't know many zoos that still do that sort of thing. It's also so interesting to see how the interior of the zoo has been turned into an Africa theme and the northern section into an Asia theme that may well blur into Australasia with the new exhibit. Primate Panorama remains it's own thing and we get Into the Wild as the increasingly, weirdly standard 'grab bag miscellaneous zone' every zoo seems to need. Looks like it's official the capuchin have left Monkey Island permanently and are at PP in an official capacity.I just discovered the updated Denver Zoo map and I'm in love with it. I've never seen a version with such detail, including the interior of the Tropical Discovery building. There's icons of each structure in the zoo, from restaurants to aviaries, and the colour-coded sections are eye-catching. This is a brilliant zoo map:

I'm a little unclear on how this is phrased but it sounds like the felines building will have a public exhibit for Dia once the tree kangaroos move?
