August Puzzle 2024

[Prochilodus246]

This puzzle is much inspired by @gentle lemur and contains snippets of 15 animals. All photos need to be identified to species, but not always as genus, subspecies or even just what type of animal may lead you to getting the correct answer. All the animals relate to something specifically with an underlying theme which involves them all.

10 of the photos are my own, with five coming from the ZooChat gallery but I will only credit the relevant photographers once the puzzle has been completed to help prevent people searching the respective members’ gallery for the photo in question.

You will get 5 days before you can send in your answers.

EDIT: I have also just realised I have not numbered the photos, so please work left to right

I have been having thoughts about the puzzle being far too easy for ZooChatters. As to gage whether I think I am correct in thinking this and to make my future puzzles harder or easier you can send what your thoughts are via DMs. Of course, in two days you can send your answers via the thread

Rest assured it isn’t too easy (in my opinion); confidently identified about 50% but no link is coming to mind at all!

The words in caps are characters from TV shows. I'm kind of close to getting a few others to fit the theme if that is the theme. I'm probably not right though, given how many I couldn't find even a tenuous link to a character that I know of

Don't just rely on characters, all the animals relate to the theme in some way. Some of the hints involve characters but not all.

I think it's a Javan green magpie, but not sure if that helps with the theme...
