ANIMAL UPDATE: Some Eastern Casquehead Iguanas from Chester Zoo (Laemanctus longipes) have arrived at Hertfordshire Zoo, they are in the Amazon and Beyond (adults) and Temple of Angkor. (juveniles)

Also, Nirvana the binturong was in the old squirrel monkey exhibit, next to the red pandas, I saw her at the top of her exhibit.

Species not on ZTL I recorded on my last visit: Western slow worm (Anguis fragilis), Western sand lizard (Lacerta agilis agilis), Chinese crocodile lizard (Shinisaurus crocodilurus) and Verreaux's eagle owl (Bubo lacteus).

The removal of lions could mean that Hertfordshire could bring back cheetahs, but temporarily. Or, on lions, get the cubs from London Zoo.
their lion enclosure was only built in 2019 so i'm predicting they'll keep it for a big cat still - hopefully a new lion pairing
Alternatively, the collection could keep leopards or clouded leopards
Enclosure would be highly unsuitable for cloudies.
Obviously if the enclosure is only 5 years old then I would have thought that more lions will be/have been sourced. Possibly joining the rescue path like BCS?
Guessing there's still circuses with lions in Europe?
very likely they could introduce one of the saved Ukranian lions to the zoo as BCS isn't a display attraction

I have a question but on the zoo map on the website right over by camp lion there’s a thing that says new for 2025 does anyone know what’s coming that’s new for 2025.
I think this could be their new lemur exhibit.
