A currently started campaign to promote animal adoptions to potential donors in pre-Christmas time brough some snippets of animal info not mentioned here previously I think.
Two white-throated monitors obtained in February 2024 are both females. The zoo is searching for a male but there is shortage of them in European zoos.
The male chimpansee Guis that arrived in May 2024 is undergoing very slow introduction process of meeting with various members of the Dvur´s group. He has still not met female "M" yet who is his intended bride (the only female in the group he has recomendation to breed with).
The original breeding pair of African pygmy-falcons came 2022 from Mr. Glatt - the owner of the private Zoopark Nehvizdy. Currently Dvur keeps 7 birds and all are bts. 4 of them are chicks hatched in Dvur in 2024. The zoo waits till that groups grows more before it will place some on show.
Dvur had good season with maneless zebras. Three colts were born 2024 and are alive. A male born April and two females born in July and November. Considering how struggling is the zoo population of this subspecies in Europe, this is very welcomed.
