Personally, and this is just my perceptions (and not based on information coming from the zoo management nor staff, so open to conjecture...)!!!: These Indian gharials are just about to approach adulthood (hatched 2007) and any move for these crocodians would be quite stressful. It be much better if they remain at the zoo and I do assume the there are good locations within the zoo back of house to hold both females in temporary accomodition for some considerable timeframe.Does that mean the Gharial’s are staying? And if not are there any animals that are able to stay until renovations are completed?
Perhaps some of our esteemed Cleveland locals (@CMZman et al) have more definite and substantive information on these issues than I can (as a herp / crocodile afficionado specialist....).
