WRS Mandai expansion plans

Based on the latest video, it seems that parts of the Rainforest Wild utilise the boardwalk design from Bird Paradise. Hopefully they’ve resolved the issue of the static shocks.

To be honest, I’m a bit disappointed that they reuse the boardwalk design. It already feels too uniform across the bird park and gives a “curated” vibe: the landscaping are different between the aviaries but the boardwalk style is the same. :(

Nonetheless, can’t wait to see the new park :D:D

I don't know how a boardwalk design can vary that much. The design chosen for both parks is for maximum durability and universal access (for wheelchairs, prams, etc). Rainforest Wild will have extensive at grade rugged pathways as well, which distinguishes it from Bird Paradise.

It wasn't much of the shape of the boardwalk but more towards the material choice and railing designs. Jurong bird park had boardwalks that were built at different time and the slight difference of materials/designs gave each aviaries a distinct look.

The other Mandai parks also utilize different boardwalk 'design' as they were built at different time. Perhaps, the main jarring point of the newer boardwalks at Bird Paradise / Rainforest Wild is the metallic colour of the railings that makes them stand out among the greeneries.

This is a minor (and highly subjective) criticism from me. I totally understand that there are practical aspects that were taken into consideration, e.g. some materials are easier to maintain

Rainforest Wild Asia opens to the public on 12 March 2025. Here's the official map of the park:

A lot of repeated species as we probably would've known, but I was actually surprised (pleasantly so) to see that the Bearded Pigs will be on display too

Also maybe it's just a me thing, but one of the Tiger renders has slightly different in some way to me (The one laying down). Something about it feels slightly different from the other Malayan Tiger renders
