ZSL London Zoo ZSL London Zoo News 2025

The most minor of things, but preferred it when they listed them in loose taxonomic groups rather than alphabetically. Easy way to parse how many e.g. primate species were present and the like.
I agree: the Animal Inventory was more useful, and easier to use, when the species were listed taxonomically rather than in alphabetical sequence.

More importantly, I wish the ZSL would revert to the more informative seven column format for the inventory, listing number of arrivals, births, departures, deaths e.t.c )

Can any recent or impending visitor tell me if the four Diana Monkeys are together as a group yet?

Not yet seen them integrated together although on my visits. They do seem to rotate which of the linked indoor/outdoor enclosures the groups have so all should be familiar with the all the areas.

The Zoos previous Sengi passed away due to old age and a new individual coming soon.

Did they ever replace the Sengi? Priscilla was mine and my partners favourite animal at the zoo and we used to watch her for ages as everyone else walked by trying to spot the sloths or primates.

Short summary of a visit last Thursday:
- It was great to see the Zebras, Giraffes and Ostriches sharing the same area, all out and about
- The Warthogs are currently enjoying a temporary change of scenery in what was the Hunting Dogs area while the warthog enclosure is refitted.
- Red-cowled cardinal bird seen in the Rainforest Kingdom
- Amara the pygmy hippo was out and active. The keepers said she has a potential mate lined up to arrive in the future but he's currently very young (like a medieval betrothal!)
