aw i missed sombar he was hiding when i went past (but i went after a loud school group so he may have hidden away) however did get to see Dangalabba near the glass when hes normaly in his water, so atleast i got a good look at a normaly hard to see animal.Update from most recent visit:
Meerkats are off display and there is a sign in the enclosure......
1.0 Sombar was out in the primate trail today looking very sleepy on top of his crate, photo below:
Got to see the new dino setup as mentioned by ramsayi:
Jaya was very calm around me and did not hiss or roar but instead came closer which is a good sign.... Tested the water bottle theory.... he did not care![]()
With the Meerkats sign it looks like they have a name map iconUpdate from most recent visit:

Which species is Sombar? It is best to state the species as an individual animal when mentioning them by name since not all people reading this know all the individual animals in the zoo by name. Same thing with Jaya, I am also unsure which species he is.Jaya was very calm around me and did not hiss or roar but instead came closer which is a good sign.

What is this supposed to mean? You aren't posting for the benefit of the couple of people who know every animal at this zoo by name - posts are for everybody on the forum all over the world to read."You shouldn't be a mechanic if you don't know what the parts on a car are called"

Oh ok yep all good Zoofan, I will remember to do that from now onStating the species makes the post inclusive to everyone on the forum because it provides context to what’s being discussed.
Not everyone reading the post will know the names of all (or any) animals at Perth Zoo. Yes, they can search it; but it’s more convenient to have the information to hand. It only takes a couple of seconds to write ‘Jaya the Sumatran tiger’ for example.
