I think they are still in quarantine.I don't think they are as they wern't signed and on the map of the new area they were crossed out with black tape.
You can't get to the old meerkat habitat with the new layout. Somebody stated that they are going to use this for the meerkat experiences.I think if the zoo did end up acquiring Pangolins, they would most likely be at the site of the old meerkat habitat since there isn’t anything there at the moment.
Rabies quarantine would only be needed if the animals came from an un-approved zoo or private source. They already have them offshow, maybe doing rabies quarantine
Talked to two keepers/volunteers that both confirmed they were still planned to go in the space next to the porcupines and have already arrived but are currently in quarantine but should hopefully be introduced reasonably soon.I think they are still in quarantine.
The Chester Zoo map has now been updated on their website to include the new Heart of Africa area.
With all the pangolin signage and education it wouldn't surprise if if the plan was to hold them in the future.
I believe the blesbok are going to go in the secondary giraffe enclosure viewable from the lodges, don’t quote me on that though!New map looks spectacular
I saw on Zootierliste the other day the zoo still holds Blesbok
Are they going to be joining HOA or do we think they’ll be moved on?
I think the Blesbok are going to be in with the giraffes next to the accommodation. They are currently being kept off show because the new habitat isn't quite ready.New map looks spectacular

That was my thought... the main reason that they are not held is because of the poor breeding record. Though with how Brookfield and Prague have managed to change fortunes with their pangolins this may changeAren't a lot of the captive breeding efforts focused on the Asian pangolin species? Although, I presume if they're successful with those guys, they're going to move onto the rest of them...
What a stupid decision. How can visitos not in the lodges see them?
From what I understand in zoos they are shy animals... they need a big paddock and usually stay a good distance from the visitors. Not sure how showy they'll be at ChesterI totally agree with you there and seeing that I have never seen this species in person before either.

They were kept where the snow leopards are, I saw them several times and visitors did not seem to bother them.
