According to the comments section of the above linked Facebook post, they will have to wait for DNA testing to be sure. I would think chances are extremely high that Callee is the sire based on his history, but there is certainly a small chance it could be one of the other two.Is callee titan or ajani the dad?
I'm pretty sure part of why they moved Titan to Atlanta two months ago was for in case he still has not naturally sired calves at Sedgwick yet. TBF Titan is still rly young being in his mid teens, so it possibly could be a small number of years from now till they place him in a breeding facility. During my visit to the Dallas Zoo yesterday, I did my usual Q&As with the staff abt elephants, and their facility, and one keeper told me bulls will typically be natural dads and enter musth for the first time around the late teens-early twenties age range. I think Callee was a first dad at 21 in his Omaha years and now he's a breeding machine.According to the comments section, they will have to wait for DNA testing to be sure. Bulls in the wild do not get to breed before 28-35 range as the cows will not stand for younger pubescent or not very mature bulls....I'm pretty sure part of why they moved Titan to Atlanta two months ago was for in case he still has not naturally sired calves at Sedgwick yet. I think it's true that captive bulls will generally start breeding much earlier than in the wild. I read the mabu had his first calf at SDSP at 16 back in 2006.Bulls in the wild do not get to breed before 28-35 range as the cows will not stand for younger pubescent or not very mature bulls....
