Singapore Zoo Singapore Zoo News 2025

The Red-eyed Crocodile Skink exhibit would house Big-headed Turtle.

Isn't that the previous sign that was never removed/Overlayed with another species at some point? Unless I'm forgetting something. It happened to the Malayan Horned Frog for a bit while they were replaced with the Black-Breasted Lead Turtles

Two Ring-tailed Lemurs are free-ranging near the entrance.

That's been happening for a while already, a month, two or perhaps more if I recall. Happy to see primates free-ranging in some capacity by the entrance again.

1.1 L'hoest monkey are being conditioned to the Black-and-white Colobus monkey exhibit at prinate kingdom. The male especially is still relatively skittish as of today.

They are not going to be part of RW Africa? Or they will be both in the zoo and the new park?

A few small updates from today's visit
1. Pygmy hippo exhibits and by extension, the Siamese crocodile and Chinese alligator exhibits were closed for refurbishment
2. The flat-backed spider tortoises at Tortoise Shell-ter have been replaced with a lonesome Burmese star tortoise kept away from the rest.
3. The mixed turtle exhibit outside RepTopia and the sun bears is no longer there, seems like most of those turtles have moved over to Rainforest Wild Asia.
4. More small RepTopia changes: the Moellendorf's trinket snake has taken over the Gaboon viper exhibit while the Gaboon vipers are now in the former Rio Fuerte beaded lizard exhibit. Both Bitis gabonica and Bitis rhinoceros are signed.
5. Another Mexican redleg tarantula lives in the tank formerly for blue spiny lizards.
6. The outdoor exhibit next to the Rote Island snake-necked turtles and crocodile monitor that once held tortoises had a single spotted pond turtle.
7. Some of the herptile tanks at Fragile Forest have been restocked with invertebrates: Java stick insect at the Amazon milk frog tank, Chaco golden knee tarantula where the black-breasted leaf turtles were and Asian forest scorpion at the green tree frog tank, although I only saw the Java stick insect. No Prevost's squirrels in the biodome or their cage at the airlock too.
8. The Nile lechwes have been officially on display. 2 of the Grevy's zebras now live with the giraffes.
9. Bennett's wallaby and Colombian black spider monkey signage have been removed

1. Pygmy Hippo underwater viewing gallery area has been closed for a couple of months already, for structural upgrading works.

2. Flat-backed Spider Tortoises have been phased out. The lone Burmese Star Tortoise was hatched at the Zoo.

3. The mixed turtle exhibit it still there. It is just temporarily hoarded off to build a sheltered walkway from the Komodo Dragon hut to the Sun Bear exhibit. The exhibit was last occupied by the Vietnamese Pond Turtles.

4. Mandai only has Bitis rhinoceros.

5. Blue Spiny Lizards have been phased out.

6. The exhibit also has at least one Malayan Box Turtle.

7. The inverts mentioned are all in their exhibits, just very well hidden. The Prevost's Squirrels should still be in the Biodome.

8. The 2 Grevy's are the half siblings born at the Zoo.

9. The male Bennett's Wallaby at Australasia died of old age. I'm not sure if there are plans to refresh the exhibit as the remaining 3 Grey Kangaroos are also very old.
