Could Mandrills and Bongos cohabitate in a mixed exhibit? Planning out a Cameroonian forest section and want this to be the highlight. Could also use ideas for some smaller satellite exhibits
This could work. There would have to be ample space though. Some other animal ideas: African grey parrots, red River hogs, African Dwarf Crocodiles, Giant African Millipedes, Straw-colored fruit bats, and gaboon viperCould Mandrills and Bongos cohabitate in a mixed exhibit? They asked for some smaller satellite exhibits so those were my suggestions. If they were mixed species, the following would workNot all of the in the same exhibit, I hope ?
All of them are OK except the Pig/Duiker mix. They asked for some smaller satellite exhibits so those were my suggestions. If they were mixed species, the following would work
- African Grey Parrots, Turacos, Blue Duiker, other birds, Hingeback Tortoise
- Red River Hog, Angolan Colobus, Yellow-backed Duiker, DeBrazza's Monkey
- African Dwarf Crocodile, turtles
- Giant African Millipede, Giant African Snail
- Straw-colored Fruit Bat, Northern Greater Galago
- Gaboon Viper
The snail and millipede (I'm also counting related species) has mixed before at facilities like DierenPark Amserfoort, Northumberland Country Zoo, and Edinburgh Zoo (Tanzanian millipede)All of them are OK except the Pig/Duiker mix.
I don't know anything about the viability of a mix of Millipedes and Snails.

All of the non birds of prey birds might get bullied and at least stressed. The owls can get stressed. It wouldn't really work that wellWould Short-eared Owls, Eurasian Pygmy Owls and Lesser Kestrels work together with Eurasian Spoonbill, Sibirian Crane, Little Bittern, Nothern Shoveler, European Wigeon, Baikal Teal, Tufted Duck, Red-breasted Goose, Lesser White-fronted Goose and Grey Partridge? The ducks, geese, owls and partridges wouldn't breed
Also Hartlaub’s Ducks and a Touraco speciesThis could work. There would have to be ample space though. Some other animal ideas: African grey parrots, red River hogs, African Dwarf Crocodiles, Giant African Millipedes, Straw-colored fruit bats, and gaboon viper
