I have a new dlc idea and it’s called the African rainforest and this DLC would be focused on animals from the lowland forests and rainforests of western and central Africa and animals in this DLC include the western tree Hyrax, marabou stork Diana monkey, long crested eagle, Central African linsang, African wood owl , water Chevrotain, Congo serpent eagle, royal antelope, African fish eagle and the bates Pygmy antelope and the DLC would also include a walkthrough exhibit with Congo peafowl, African grey parrot, Violet, great blue, yellow billed, Ross’s, Ruwenzori and Guinea turacos, black collared and red headed lovebirds, red throated and blue headed bea eaters, white bellied and African Pygmy kingfishers, bar tailed trogon, African paradise flycatcher along with the fire, wedge snouted, speckel lipped, red sided and tree skinks along with the double scaled, graceful, smooth, strange horned, spectral Pygmy, side striped, crested, Eliot’s, Johnston’s and Owen’s chameleons and their would be exhibit animals like the eastern green mamba, Forest Cobra, Gabon viper, black mamba, puff adder, black necked spiting cobra, Jamison’s mamba and dwarf water cobra. The theme of the DLC would be themed after the indigenous people of the Congo and the Asante aka Ashanti people of Western Africa and there would also be signage and people telling the myth of a mythological creature called Mokele-mbembe which has been described to look like a giant sauropod dinosaur.

I was trying to think of an African Rainforest idea but my brain wasn't switched on at the time to think but I think I would have species like:

- Congo Buffalo
- Red Forest Duiker
- Black & White Colobus Monkey
- Diana Monkey
- Congo Peafowl
- Gaboon Viper

What I'd like to see for this year's DLC, there def won't be that many birds irl :(

Q1: Pacific Northwest Pack
Animals: American Black Bear, Mountain Goat, Roosevelt Elk, Sea Otter, Anna's, Black-chinned, Calliope & Rufous Hummingbirds (WE)
Theme: Pacific Northwest indigenous themed scenery

Q2: Safari Animal Pack
Animals: African Spurred Tortoise, Gerenuk, Grey Crowned Crane, Hamadryas Baboon, Honey Badger, Secretary Bird, Shoebill & Jackson's Chameleon (E)

Q3: Mountains Pack
Animals: Gelada, Himalayan Monal, Markhor, Spectacled Bear & Chinese Giant Salamander (E)
Theme: Tibetan scenery

Q4: Latin America Animal Pack
Animals: Black Howler Monkey, Common Squirrel Monkey, Greater Rhea, Ocelot, Patagonian Mara, South American Coati, Southern Tamandua, Common Marmoset, Cotton-top Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Golden Lion Tamarin & Pygmy Marmoset (WE)

Scenery-wise, this does make a lot of sense for a pack. As for the species, the black bear and elk are both good choices, and either mountain goat or bighorn sheep (personally I prefer the latter) would seem plausible as well. I'm not sure if Frontier would do a sea otter, as there'd be a lot of new animations, but a harbor seal would be another option (essentially a clone of gray seal). Given the recent inclusion of the mute swan, I could also see Frontier trying to add a duck or goose species in a future pack, so something like a Canada goose would be a plausible choice in this case too. As far as birds go, hummingbirds don't excite me too much, and aren't a very common zoo animal, but I'd be happy to get *any* birds at this point. I feel as though frontier could be more likely to give us something like a garter snake in the exhibit box though.

Q2: Safari Animal Pack
Animals: African Spurred Tortoise, Gerenuk, Grey Crowned Crane, Hamadryas Baboon, Honey Badger, Secretary Bird, Shoebill & Jackson's Chameleon (E)
The tortoise is very plausible, and a baboon is certainly a widely requested species (I'd LOVE it if we got another monkey!). I'd be very surprised to get all *three* of those birds, but at least the grey (or black) crowned crane would be a very great choice for the game, and a very common species in zoos. I'd be surprised for a "Safari" pack to only include a singular ungulate species- instead of the shoebill something like a kudu could be the better/more likely option. A chameleon is certainly a logical option, however following your hummingbird example and the precedent of the butterflies, then I'd personally like to see us get "African starlings" in the walk-through, with the golden-breasted, superb, emerald, and violet-backed.

Q3: Mountains Pack
Animals: Gelada, Himalayan Monal, Markhor, Spectacled Bear & Chinese Giant Salamander (E)
Theme: Tibetan scenery
Great choices, adding a pheasant species in the game would be really cool, and I think Frontier would do a really great job with the markhor! I'm not sold on the idea of adding two more bear species to the game though, so if American black makes it in then I suspect they'd pick something else instead of spectacled/Andean bear- for instance adding a clone of the llama (e.g., the alpaca or vicuna)

Q4: Latin America Animal Pack
Animals: Black Howler Monkey, Common Squirrel Monkey, Greater Rhea, Ocelot, Patagonian Mara, South American Coati, Southern Tamandua, Common Marmoset, Cotton-top Tamarin, Emperor Tamarin, Golden Lion Tamarin & Pygmy Marmoset (WE)
Rhea, ocelot, and cavy would be great! As a big primate fan, howler monkeys and squirrel monkeys (especially the former) would be very exciting choices, although I don't think Frontier could pull off animations for the squirrel monkey easily. While I love callitrichids, I don't think they are well-suited for the walk-through exhibit, if meerkats and armadillos can be full exhibit animals I see no justification to not give the golden lion tamarin (or a similar species) the same treatment.

if American black makes it in then I suspect they'd pick something else instead of spectacled/Andean bear- for instance adding a clone of the llama
I personally prefer the Spectacled Bear over American Black Bear since the Spectacled Bear is the only bear species of SA, while for NA bears we already have Grizzly and Polar
Theme: Tibetan scenery
Do we really need Tibetan scenery, I just found someone made the Bhutan Temple as Red Panda exhibit on Youtube, probably what we have now are good enough to make Himalayan architectures
although I don't think Frontier could pull off animations for the squirrel monkey easily.
The Squirrel Monkey can use the model and animation of Capuchin, but I don't think Frontier would offer so many monkeys. Generally the Frontier only releases one Primate species ever year since 2020, the only exception is 2021 when the BAW Ruffed Lemur was released through the Anniversary update.

What themes do you guys think are necessary to the game and we still don't have right now, such as the North American native theme, anything else? Maybe Middle East and Mongolian themes? What about the museum theme?

A Grecoroman classic architecture theme would be really nice too :3

With Planet Zoo coming to consoles end of March and if the next DLC will be the very last, it would be nice if the finale pack would include a good lot of species to mark its farewell.

I just had another planet zoo dlc idea and the dlc is called the British DLC and the animals in DLC include both animals that currently live in Great Britain but also animals that used to live in Great Britain and the flagship animal of the DLC is the Scottish wildcat but besides the wildcat the DLC would also include the Scottish Crossbill, Scottish red deer, Red Squirrel, Northern Gannet, Atlantic puffin, White tailed sea eagle, capercaillie, red grouse, pied wagtail, Shetland, st kilda and fair isle wrens, British dipper, Atlantic salmon, st kilda field mouse, canna mouse, Orkney and Skomer voles and Irish hare and the exhibit animals for the DLC include the common European Adder, Slow worm, Palamate Newt and pool frog and the scenery for the DLC include misty highlands, chapels, Famous castles like Buckingham Palace, Stirling castle, Highclair Castle and Bleinham palace, coats of arms, tartans and flags from across Great Britain and the DLC would bring stuff that would be unique to this DLC like a section where guests can create their own coat of arms, Tartans and also a section where guests can dance and play and possibly learn to play the bagpipes, and a mine ride where you ride Shetland ponys into a mine and in the mine are displays of what life was like in Scotland during the Industrial Revolution and how the ponies saved the lives of young kids and what I mean by that is back in the Industrial Revolution young kids were sent into the coal mines and factories when they should be in bed or at school but eventually the kids were replaced with the Shetland pony and the ponies worked in the mines from the Industrial Revolution all the way to the 70s when the last mine that used Shetland ponies in the us closed and their would also be a section dedicated to the cryptids of Great Britain like the unicorn and Loch Ness monster.

Alright, alright, I know that this idea is clearly tailgating on the announcement of another dlc that is in active development; and while I don’t think this is what the next pack will be (again, please don't take this too seriously). I could see Frontier taking some notes if they ever wanted to make yet another African-themed dlc… Not like they already have more than one, but it would be a pretty funny way to end the game if a similar pack turned out to be the definitive final dlc.:p

Regardless, here before you was a silly little idea I had for what is going to be the Equatorial Animal Pack!

  • Drill - Mandrillus leucophaeus, the pack’s signature species; and a pretty easy animal to make using the Mandrill rig. Additionally, if we can learn anything from the latest dlc, I could see the model of this animal being significantly better when compared to their base game counterparts.

  • Forest Buffalo / Congo Buffalo / etc. - Whatever Frontier decides to use as a common name for this colorful creature, they are certainly no stranger to including multiple subspecies of the same animal in the game. Much like the Drill, I could also see this animal having a way better model when compared to the base game African Buffalo, but for either animal listed thus far, it can go either way.

  • Mantled Guereza - If the Zookeeper’s Animal Pack has anything to take away from, it’s that a dlc can successfully feature two primates in one pack — just as long as one is primarily terrestrial, and the other mainly arboreal. Being relatively common in zoos worldwide, in addition to being decently requested for pack ideas. I could see this being the more “welcomed” of the two primates in this pack.

  • Nile Crocodile - Being Africa’s most famous crocodilian, and a species whose inclusion has been long absent over the five+ years of Planet Zoo’s existence. I’d say it's about time the developers add this symbolic species of the Congo River and beyond… not much else to add beyond what’s been said about “cloned” species.

  • African Civet - Being yet another species that’s often requested for pack ideas, this would certainly be one of the most unique carnivorans to be added in a dlc. Additionally, since the region’s top predator, the African Leopard, has already been added as an anniversary animal; there are not too many feliforms left for Frontier to choose from the tropical parts of Africa.

  • African Crowned Cranes - Balearica sp., depending on whichever of the two extant species Frontier decides to choose; this would certainly be a worthy inclusion as the pack’s only bird (we just gained two from the Americas, calm down). Furthermore, since either species of crane are frequently mixed with a multitude of birds and ungulates. Their inclusion could certainly spruce up a savanna build for those who can care less about ostriches.

  • Tree Pangolin - Last, but certainly not least, Phataginus tricuspis, the pack’s signature oddball species — this is the animal I have the most to say about; especially since this is (likely) the only African pangolin worth adding into Planet Zoo. Being an arboreal species, it could certainly be a revolutionary inclusion for modders, especially since their rig can easily be used for a multitude of arboreal animal mods. By the way, to anyone who may be a bit concerned that this animal is “too small” to be added as a habitat animal; rest assured that these animals weigh around 3-5 pounds (1-2 kg). Conversely, this is well over the already present prairie dogs and meerkats in terms of weight; yet, they are still several pounds/kilograms lighter than the larger Chinese Pangolin. Finally, if we can get away with having every species of rhino, elephant, hippo, and the like present in current captivity (in-game); why not Frontier do the same with pangolins!

Now if a representative of Frontier ever decides to read the entirety of this post and comes across the interspecies enrichment segment listed below, please keep this in mind if this silly prediction of mine ever comes true:

  • Drill
    • Pygmy Hippopotamus
    • Red River Hog

  • Forest Buffalo
    • Red River Hog

  • Guereza*
    • Red River Hog
    • Bongo
    • Western Lowland Gorilla

  • Crowned Crane
    • Reticulated Giraffe
    • Common Ostrich
    • Thompson’s Gazelle
    • Southern White Rhinoceros
    • Bongo
    • Okapi
    • Nyala
    • Common Warthog
    • Springbok
    • Kirk’s Dik-Dik
    • Blue Wildebeest
    • Greater Flamingo
    • Nile Lechwe
    • Plains Zebra
    • Black Wildebeest
  • Crocodile, Civet, and Pangolin - no compatible animals
*Finally, as a way to round out this post, the guereza is the pack’s only walkthrough habitat animal; as evidenced by Magdeburg and ZSL London Zoo, respectively.
