Perhaps they will change there mind now if they are going into PC, I could see it being difficult to bring in fresh blood and alternate there heard when any animal coming in would probably be from a PC back ground and thus not be able to do the show etc and have to be separated each time. On another note I do wonder if going PC is better for these cows, I know the show isn’t great for them and can be viewed as more of a circus thing but they will also lose there walks down to the lake and the benefits of this I would think are greater than being confined in an enclosure they are after all captive animals than will never be rewilded

I'd certainly say so, now Longleat no longer holds the species. Evidently they do fine in more open spaces in captivity but setting them in woodland is both better for visitors and evidently good for breeding

Say hello to the newest addition at Woburn Safari Park - a critically endangered Eastern mountain bongo calf, born to first-time mum Odongo the bongo! ✨

After a tricky start and some gentle physio, this little fighter is now up on his hooves and thriving - with mum Odongo by his side and cousin Djembe, who was born at the Park back in October, showing him the ropes. ♥️

Odongo and her twin sister Othaya now share a new bond - both proud bongo mums! With less than 100 individuals remaining worldwide, every calf counts for conservation.

On June 23rd, the zoo announced that 5 Humboldt penguins hatched in 2025 which are all now on display in Humboldt Harbour.

He arrived to the Park all the way from Serengeti Park in Germany, this gorgeous 10 year old African lion is already making his mark in the Kingdom of Carnivores with his dark mane and powerful presence

Swing by this summer and see if you can spot this majestic boy strutting his stuff in his new home ❤️
 
Be interesting to see if they retire the old pride as there is only 1 female if breeding age I believe.
Maybe new females have been sourced as well
 
Completely unexpected. The current pride had at last count 5 essentially juvenile males and a long history of not really successfully integrating breeding males. Genuinely curious what the plans could be considering the sheer number of cubs around the UK this year. I would have thought movement of pride males would have been better suited to Blair drummond or Folly farm.
 
On July 26th, the zoo announced that (0.2) alpacas were born on June 13th, which are on display in Alpaca Outpost.

On July 26th, the zoo announced that 4 Asian small-clawed otters were born on May 30th. The zoo also announced they named the penguins Bowser, Jive, Mambo, Maris, and Piper, respectively, as well as the name of the camel, Zeke.

On August 16th, it was mentioned that the zoo transferred (2.0) Vietamese sika deer to Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire in May 2025*.

On August 26th, the zoo announced they built their capybara a new exhibit in the Foot Safari area, which is now open to the public.

I am excited for my first visit on the 25th, because once I have been there, I will have seen every species of bear except for Sloth bears.
