Adding New Species to the Gallery!

Here are some new species I have posted, some from a bit ago. Sorry for the poor camera quality on some of them.

Surprised these Anthias haven't been posted yet since they show up in the Aquarium trade from time to time
I don't even know when these were described, I found a wholesaler with a post from 7 years ago calling them "Apogon sp. 'Philippines', but nothing about their classification. Just a few stores that called them Apogonichthys hyalinus in the past couple years, which seems to be valid

I have photos of this species from several years ago, but they aren't the best so I never really considered uploading them. I believe I have photos of quite a number of fish species unrepresented in the gallery, just often not motivated to run various names into the search bar and see if it's worth uploading something or not.

I currently only have some crappy screenshots from a video I took with my phone in a waterproof jar, but pretty soon I'm gonna upload pictures of the Rhône trout, a rather rare species not held in captivity.

I'm trying to get better pictures before I upload them though

Oh interesting, I've not heard of that species before! If you're struggling to get good photos/footage with the jar, there are waterproof phone cases on the market that may make it easier.

My dad actually has a fully waterproof phone, so I've taken some much better videos with his. I still have to screenshot them though.

It certainly is an interesting species. Apparently almost no pure Rhône trout exist, due to heavy hybridisation with the Brown trout. In the river at my camping near Castellane there's a few that have really pronounced stripes, and a few where you can barely see them

Thats understandable, I just got a bunch of terrible pics at SeaLife Carlsbad because of how distorted their tanks are that normally I wouldn't upload, but the gallery is so derived of media, I uploaded them anyways.

Was hoping to get a better picture of one of our new additions at the Seattle Aquarium, but he was hiding in the rocks so you only get to see his face (still a new one for the gallery)

While not the first picture I've posted of the species, it's much better than the other photo I posted a while back and still just the 2nd picture of it in the gallery
