For what it is worth: I remain firmly convinced the import/export barriers that exist globally are for the most part infuriatingly superfluous, even downright hypocritical or ignorant of the real zoonotic concerns and ignore recent advances in veterinary health and possible/potential and actual control systems and/or successful treatments of zoonotic disease ... should be broken and changed to accommodate and enable free exotic animal and plant exchanges between different Continents.I have said this many times already but…

I know that exceptions were brought up, but unless any if these countries suddenly get EAZA members than no EAZA animals will be arriving to Japan anytime soon. I argue a better way is to collect gametes and tissues for a frozen zoo in Japan that could later be brought to the Europe for breeding.

EAZA has "issues" with good parts of Africa and/or Asia. AZA/ZAA-US has "issues" with imports to-fro Europe + some exports to Europe. ZAA has "issues" with imports/exports ex Asia and major parts of Africa. I do think/feel most of the concerns involved and/or reasons cited are total " "balloney" and "hogwash".
