Zoo officials said the name means smart and spirited, "just like we expect him to be."

When asked about Petunia's whereabouts on FB, Richmond Zoo replied: "After Petunia was old enough to be independent, she left MRZ and went to Tanganyika Wildlife Park!"

did anyone ever verify this? TWP only seems to post about Posie and Mars, Pluto has also been featured but have not seen news on Petunia or any other pygmy hippo under their care...

There was some paperwork obtained via PETA that indicated Petunia was transferred from MRZ to TWP around November 2024. However someone who visited TWP in August this year confirmed that Pluto, Posie, and Mars are the only pygmy hippos there. So Petunia's whereabouts are currently unknown.
