It has to be...

My local Zoo is Banham Zoo and they haven't had any new notable species arrive in the past 10 years except Giraffes. I will go for the the more realistic route which I can see has had few travellers so far. Lol. Right, thinking about where to put them aswell... I would like to see...
1. Common River Hippos or Pygmy Hippos - they could go into the large pond opposite the Formosan Sika Deer and Prairie Marmot exhibit. Move the Red Breasted and Bar Headed Geese onto the moat/pond of the Woodland Walk. Would need to check the gradient of land surrounding the pond to see if it can cater for Hippos.
2. Move the Grevy's Zebra to live with the Giraffes and put Okapis in the current Grevy's Zebra enclosure and get more Zebras.
3. Put the Mongolian Sheep back in with the Bactrian Camels and put maybe Tapirs, preferably Malayan Tapir where the Sheep came from. If Brazilian Tapirs, also put a pair of Capybara in there. (would need to build pool/wallow for capybara). Or maybe Babirusa?
4. Add a lot more species of waterfowl into the moat/pond of the Woodland Walk. I suggest the likes of Puna Teal, Coscoroba Swan, White-Faced Whistling Duck (move the current ones from the Crested Screamer enclosure and get some more), Fulvous Tree Duck (move the current ones from the Scarlet Ibis enclosure and get some more), Red Crested Pochard, Carolina Wood Duck, European Shelduck, Bar Headed Geese and Red Breasted Geese (from Formosan Sika Deer enclosure) and Ruddy Shelduck etc. etc.
5. Move the Black-Necked Swans out of their exhibit and put some Agouti or something of a similar size in there.
6. Now that the White-Faced Whistling Ducks are on the Woodland Walk moat/pond (according to this plan atleast) I would put some Roseate Spoonbills in with the Crested Screamer and Sun Conures.
7. Now that the Fulvous Tree Ducks are on the Woodland Walk moat/pond (according to this plan atleast) I would put three more European Eiders in the Scarlet Ibis enclosure to live with the other three that are in there.
8. Banham Zoo currently have a fair amount of 'single species' birds, i.e. only one of a specific species. Birds that are included in this are the Red-Crested Turaco, Victoria Crowned Pigeon, Kookaburra, Temminck's Tragopan, Crested Screamer, Emu and all of their Hornbill species. So... I would get each of these a mate, the only problem with this is the Emus who would need to live separate lives from each other except from the breeding season of course.
9. Acquire some sort of Pelican species for the Woodland Walk Moat/Pond. Fence off some of the moat/pond for them as they may be tempted to eat Ducklings of wildfowl on there. I would like to see Brown Pelicans however i think that White Pelicans would be more popular (with the bright yellow bill) and would show up more in the dappled shade created by the trees.
10. There are various spaces throughout the Zoo where they could build enclosures big enough for different species of Crane. That would be nice.
Now for the less sensible but not-too-over-the-top pathway...
1. Elephants - not enough space without major, major landscaping renovations.
2. Aquarium House - as above.
3. African Paddock (including Rhino, Giraffe [already got], Zebra [already got] and maybe Blesbok?) - would need to greatly extend Giraffe Paddock which means getting rid of the Suffolk Punches which are far too valuable.
The list could almost literally go on forever!!

I see them everytime I visit mine!!Tuataras![]()
-the Great Hornbill's back. (I think it said they have been taken to Edinburgh)
Didn't one of their Giant Hornbill pair die in the last few months? If the other(or a pair) has been sent to Edinburgh does this mean Cotswold, one of the first zoos to breed them, will no longer keep this species?
