It's very strange. The cheetahs will be in between an Asian forest animal and an Asian desert enclosure. I can't see how the zoning will work. I've e-mailed Chester to ask about the Super Zoo plans, I hope I get a useful reply.
Bristol and Edinburgh have made their intentions public, I don't understand the secrecy shown by NEZS. For instance Zoogiraffe has been asked not to tell us which animals are due to arrive, it sounds as though he possesses state secrets.
There are no asian cheetahs anywhere in captivity and since the species is extremely rare (around 100 or less in the wild), no zoo will be able to get some from the wild. I think the soemmerringii subspecies is from north-eastern Africa.
It is out of the question but it was still one Chester looked at.That is impossible, there are no asian cheetahs anywhere in captivity. There are less then 100 left in the world in Iran and I have no doubts that capturing some for a european zoo is out of question.
I believe the same place as Whipsnade.Does any one know where Chester are getting their 6 cheetahs from?
I forgot to ask when i spoke to the keepers.
