I use my phone and laptop but will also use a desktop if there's one handy! ;)

I use my trusty laptop. There are two desktops in the house, but they're either half-broken or extremely slow.

I work a far distance from home and don't like having to lug things with me so I use my phone 99% of the time.

I use my desktop, but if i'm watching TV I might use my iPad during the breaks. I only use my laptop when I'm on holidays.

:p

It would be cool for the forum to be optimised for mobile phones.

On a side note, I wonder if there is a correlation between the device you use and your age? I am guessing that the folks that use a desktop are the older forumites (over 40, say), really young folks (under 18, say) mostly use their laptops, younger folks (university-age and early 20's) mostly use their phones, and the rest use a tablet in conjunction with something else. Am I close to the mark?

I'm stuck without a laptop for a few months, so I've been using public/family desktops or my android phone, but I can't log in with my phone.

I almost always use a desktop, but when visiting my girlfriend - as I am now - I use a laptop.

I'm in my mid-20's, so interpret my above comment how you will :p

I had the same problem with android but eventually managed it, the key is to keep trying! :D

Your analysis is poor ageist stereotyping. You don't even fit into it yourself if you are mid 30s as you have mentioned elsewhere!

Here are some recent stats showing operating system in use for visits to ZooChat.

This does not break it down by device type - and some smaller devices run full copies of Windows and so aren't accurately reflected in the stats.

I'll be starting on a re-design of the site later this year, I hope to be able to make it a more mobile-friendly.
In the meantime, a simple (separate) login page would be a huge help for mobile and tablet users. The pop-up is a nightmare.

Get your mobile to save your password. I don't ever have to enter my password to access the site.

It's not a question of saving the password, it's getting that far. The layer that pops up with the username and password form fields disappears whenever you try to type anything in it. This on most (all I've tried) flavours of Android ('phone and tablet).
