I use my phone and laptop but will also use a desktop if there's one handy!![]()
Oh man, I don't even own a desktop.![]()
On a side note, I wonder if there is a correlation between the device you use and your age? I am guessing that the folks that use a desktop are the older forumites (over 40, say), really young folks (under 18, say) mostly use their laptops, younger folks (university-age and early 20's) mostly use their phones, and the rest use a tablet in conjunction with something else. Am I close to the mark?
I'm stuck without a laptop for a few months, so I've been using public/family desktops or my android phone, but I can't log in with my phone.
It would be cool for the forum to be optimised for mobile phones.

Your analysis is poor ageist stereotyping. You don't even fit into it yourself if you are mid 30s as you have mentioned elsewhere!
I'll be starting on a re-design of the site later this year, I hope to be able to make it a more mobile-friendly.
In the meantime, a simple (separate) login page would be a huge help for mobile and tablet users. The pop-up is a nightmare.I'll be starting on a re-design of the site later this year, I hope to be able to make it a more mobile-friendly.

It's not a question of saving the password, it's getting that far. The layer that pops up with the username and password form fields disappears whenever you try to type anything in it. This on most (all I've tried) flavours of Android ('phone and tablet).Get your mobile to save your password. I don't ever have to enter my password to access the site.
