A few quick answers:

No, the zoo is not closing. The "end of the 34 year old organization" line was about the Toronto Zoo Foundation; currently their only purpose is fundrasing ... if they are not allowed to do so, then there is no purpose for the Foundation.

The capybara have all left the zoo. Before construction started, all of the animals were slated to be moved from the Americas paddocks, including the temple. The llamas, mara, capybara were moved first - however, since that time (but before the rest of the temple was emptied), the plans for the tundra were scaled back (hence all of the other animals still living at the temple).

Muntjac: there are only two muntjac at the zoo right now - one in with the rhinos and one with the gaur. They are very good at hiding and also have a lot of off-exhibit space that they can retreat to if they wish.

Babies: ZooGoer is correct, although we did have P. horses (and kudu, I think) born last year as well. Also to add to the list: two marabou storks, with two eggs still in incubators.

That is correct.
A female foal was born to Shani (Zebrina's mom) about two weeks ago. She has been named "Ishana", but she is still off exhibit bonding with her mom - the news will be publicized once she begins to go on display.

So since the temple in not being touched, are they going to put something in the capybaras place, are they going to be brought back,or is the area going to be left empty either then the macaw

That is correct.

I like the name, what does it mean?

OO thats interesting. How did you find out about the baby zebra Zoogoer?

O true. I love getting the sneak peaks about the zoo. Thank you very much Ungulate for all the information you provide

Ya,it is pretty cool. Thanks Ungulate.I think its funny how Quartz,Ungulate,Meaghan Edwards and I alll seem to monopolize the TZ forums. Its really great talking to all you guys about TZ.

It really is and sometimes it takes things off of our minds, for me I know it helps a lot.

I have been uploading pictures of the Toronto Zoo for the past couple days and there are a few pictures of the early stages of the Tundra Trek. Over the next few days I will upload more recent pictures of the Tundra Trek.

Wow, thanks for the info and pics, guys!

I'm really happy to hear about another zebra baby being born at our zoo. I was just reading about how rare the Grevy's is, so it's great to hear there's one more added to their population.

Speaking of animal populations, are there plans to breed the meerkats again? For a while I've noticed there's only about four. I understand they can be territorial (I watch Meerkat Manor) so I would imagine getting new ones and introducing them to the current gang would be a little tricky.

I was at the zoo today, some standouts today were the live coral tank, it is comming along amazing. More corals have been introduced and some have grown a bit. The Jellies have grown as well. The Tundra is also great, you can really see that there is a bridge over the Arctic Wolf Exhibit, the rim of the Polar Bear exhibit is complete and the Polar bear house is going great. The Orangutans seem to be out of it, are they going to import a new male? I did see the Snowy Owl there is only 1? and it is very hard to see and the rest of the zoo seems to be great! Except for the Bug section of the Americas Pavilion because there were bugs outside of the cockroach exhibit that look liked cocroches. They weren't crickets, but they were something else?

Thanks for the heads up, Quartz92! I'm planning a visit in the next couple weeks, I'm going to be taking part in the zoo's photography contest. I really like the idea of a bridge going over the wolf exhibit.

I uploaded a bunch of old TZ postcards earlier. Yes, I uploaded a similar pic twice :D There's a cheetah one I'll be adding as soon as I find it, and one of the tree kangaroos.
