UK forumsters will be happy to know I have fit Highland Wildlife Park and Edinburgh Zoo into my plans (replacing Thrigby Hall and Howletts).
I will be planning a trip to San Diego for late May to see the new Australian exhibit. I don't travel as much as I used to. I haven't even been to Bearizona yet.![]()
I'd wait for tasmanian devils to be there. they will be showing up later, but koala, buerger's and matschie's tree kangaroo, wallaby, common and southern hairy-nosed wallaby, echidna and ringtail possum will be there for the opening. not sure if perentie are for the exhibit, but they are at the Zoo, at least.
Not sure if even I have seen those species!

the common wombats and common ringtails came over in November:Cool I didn't know they had 2 kinds of wombat and 2 kinds of tree kangaroo and the ringtail possum! Been a while since a ringtail possum has been in the US! Anyone remember any in the US before?
Revised and final Europe plan (listed in order of visits):
London Zoo (if time on afternoon of arrival)
Highlands Wildlife Park
Edinburgh Zoo
Wildlife Heritage Foundation
Zoobotanico Jerez
Le Parc Des Felins (4 days)
Port Lympne
The iberian lynx is already on exhibit as of last week.
As I'll be in London next week I plan to revisit London Zoo (last visit April 2008) and make a first visit to Whipsnade. The following week and probably most of February I'll be back in Scotland and plan to revisit Edinburgh Zoo (last visit June 2011) and the Highland Wildlife Park (was there a couple of times last year but hoping for some snow this time) and make a first visit to the Five Sisters Zoo.
Is that Macduff Marine Aquarium you're referring to? Is it worth a visit, as I'm just along the coast in Inverness at the moment.
I wouldn't travel for more than an hour. It's quite good, but lacks birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
