Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden What's Gnu At The Cincinnati Zoo? - 2013

Today seems to be the anniversary of Inca the Carolina Parakeet's, last one of his species, death at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1918. RIP

A Flickr answered my question to the exact location of the returned amphiuma. She answered 'It is second away from the Manatees'. I can't tell if that means the knight anole exhibit or the green anole exhibit.

Lady Ross's Turaco, Black-casqed Hornbill, Boat-billed Heron, Hyacinth Macaw, Barbour
's Map Turtle, Mata Mata, Hammerkop, Barred Owl, and Yellow-rumped Cacique have been added to the website.

Has anyone heard any good rumors about what will be done with the current lion exhibit once the lions are move to the new Africa enclosure? I'm pretty sure I heard that the new exhibit will indeed house the zoos current resident lions, so that leaves an opening.

Nobody but the zoo knows but we suspect that the bears will be moved there. Either way I bet the exhibit will be closed for awhile so it can be renovated.

That would be a good idea. It might make a pretty decent black bear enclosure with a little work. It would be better than the current one, anyway.

Does the zoo have any beetles on exhibit? I've always wanted to see the species and already missed them in Rhode Island (Roger Williams)
