Doctor who

During watching a recent Dr Who episode my girlfriend asked me why the tardis was a telephone box and I remembered that actually it was supposed to change to disguise itself but got stuck as a British 50s Police Box. This is never referred to anymore. In fact, the master used to have a tradis which did exactly that, ie changed to fit in with surroundings.

I remeber the doctor saying there was a malfunction in the system so it is stuck like that. The docto then said that who ever wants to use the police box, can, just usually they can't get inside and whoever gets inside is usually freaked out,

Also, there was a timke when the Doctor (John Pertwee/ Tom Baker) was exciled on earth (by the timelordds) for 2 or 3 whole series (I thin it was something to do with lack of special effects funds at the BBC). He lived in the same place for all that time on an army base I think. This was when I first became aware of the programme as a kid and spent a long time wondering what the hell the tardis was form, cause it never went anywhere!!

Newzooboy you are right, the third doctor was exiled to Earth and lived on the U.N.I.T. base. the reason was cutbacks in the BBC special effects department.

Mark, I don't know if Blakes Seven is being shown at the moment, I haven't seen it listed, but viewers do have the chance to watch

Achhh, this is my type of thread.

What else do you like Rachnos?

I like Star Trek and star Trek TNG, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

And of course, Doctor Who, both original series and the new version.

I'd like to ask,

Are the sonatrans well known with the doctor, ? Has there been much past experince?

The sontarans first appearance was in "The Time Warrior", with Jon Pertwee, in 1973. They then appeared twice in the 1970s, in "The Sontaran Experiment" in 1975, and "The Invasion of Time" in 1978, both with Tom Baker. Their last appearance in the classic series was in "The Two Doctors" in 1985, with Colin Baker and Patrick Troughton. Yes, they are very well known to the Doctor.

Thanks, espcially looking forward to next weeks episode THE DOCTOR HAS A DAUGHTER!

Yes who wouldn't want to back filp and curdle through security lasers in that kind of fashion,;)

Achhh, do you think the Rachnos will re appear in a later series?

Achhh, I try my best. Achhh. Although I refer to them as a bit nicer than some other strange things that appear on the show. Achhh.
