Oh thank you very much,,
At the risk of appearing ancient, I remember Doctor Who the first time around! The Daleks were never as cool in the original series. My favourite episode of series 4 has been the Sontaran 2 parter. One of my earliest childhood memories is of watching a Sontaran called Field Major Styre. That was way back in 1975!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bwassa I can also remember Dr Who from 1963 until the original show was ended in the 1980s.
The Sontaran experiment with Field Major Styre was repeated earlier this year on one of the Sky channels. They showed a complete series each of 12,13 and 14 apart form Genesis of the Daleks (season 12) and The Talons of Weng Cheng (season 14). I was disappointed not to see Genesis of the Daleks again.
It is supposed to be tongue in cheek Jurek7
Dragon(ele)nerd the episode you are referring to is the attempted conquest of earth by the Sontarans.
Blakes Seven is I think currently being remade???
During watching a recent Dr Who episode my girlfriend asked me why the tardis was a telephone box and I remembered that actually it was supposed to change to disguise itself but got stuck as a British 50s Police Box. This is never referred to anymore. In fact, the master used to have a tradis which did exactly that, ie changed to fit in with surroundings.
Also, there was a timke when the Doctor (John Pertwee/ Tom Baker) was exciled on earth (by the timelordds) for 2 or 3 whole series (I thin it was something to do with lack of special effects funds at the BBC). He lived in the same place for all that time on an army base I think. This was when I first became aware of the programme as a kid and spent a long time wondering what the hell the tardis was form, cause it never went anywhere!!
