Zoo Tycoon Zoo Tycoon Much!!

I'm getting kind of old with ZT2, I wish I had the suitable computer to play the first one! Anybody want to send me a computer with large storage?!:p

Radical Remake - The Zoo Tycoon Wiki - Zoo Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon 2, cheats, and more

They should remake some of the better animals from the original Zoo Tycoon. You can buy it for a DS if you want, that's what I have it for. I hope they make bigger maps for Radical Remake. By the way, I already posted that link earlier.

I had sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many downloads on my old computer (one it crashed I stopped playing the game because I only wanted to use the better downloaded animals). I think I had too many as the game started acting really slow (my computer soon followed as I downloaded more). I think I got addicted to downloading new things:D:o, most of which I never even used in a zoo/aquarium (strangly I used a Blue Whale:D. I had it with Leatherback Sea Turtles for some reason). One of my favorites which I never got a chance to use was this congo rainforest pack which included animals like Red River Hogs, African Forest Buffalo, and African Forest Elephants. Probably one of my favorite downloads (if not my favorite) was the Ichthyosaurus, they were so dolphin-like, playfull, and they actually kinda looked real.

Okay I have to ask. I know I'm gonna sound dumb but I have 2 questions:

1. Where do you get all these expansion packs? Like what MrOkapi posted, "Easily my favorite expansions were Arabian Nights, Island Excursions, and some bird one....I know the word Avian was in the name." Where are these?!

2. I've tried to download a couple things, either from websites I came across or the Radical Remake and I have NO clue how to get them to actually play in the game? Is there like a guide or something? What do I do with the file?!

1) I've just Googled them and it has worked for me.

2) I used to know but have no clue anymore, it's been ages since my last download. I do know I figured out how to do it by watching a YouTube video! I'd be careful with how much you download, I went crazy with it and my game became so slow I could hardly do anything!

Microsoft Zoo was to take Zoo Tycoon in new direction - Report - GameSpot.com[/url]

I'm glad that they decided to "drop" that idea and turn it into Kinectimals. I don't know about you guys, but I felt like the first Zoo Tycoon was made to appeal to an older audience (I don't know, maybe like 13 and up?), while its sequel was much more kid-like.

Since Zoo Tycoon 2's release, I'd been expecting a more hardcore zoo simulator, with many more customization features, better graphics, more plant species, animal species (even various types of substrate if possible), and an overall deeper experience, with possible inclusions of conservation efforts, different jobs around the zoo (like promotion, zookeeping, management), or maybe even a fun little photography mode or something. I figure if the "real zoo" jobs that they would've put into the game were too hard, one could lower the difficulty and play a much more casual game where they could just toy around. Maybe I was expecting too much of Microsoft?

I like the idea of animal interaction, I really do. But when it gets all cartoony, like with the little soap bubbles flying around, the happy faces/emoticons and all of those little things, I kind of lose interest. Just my personal opinion.

I might as well just get a job at a real zoo instead of waiting around for people to make a realistic zoo computer game.

You just place them in the main folder like Program Files X86 - Microsoft Games - Zoo Tyccon 2.

It does not work for me. I tried for over 45 minutes the other day. It was completely frustrating. There is no "main folder" for Zoo Tycoon on my computer? It only shows up when the disc is in. And if I try to put it on the disc, it says "This disc cannot copy material" or something like that.

I'd like to see some indoor exhibits.

That's the type of customization I'm talking about. I'd love to see indoor exhibits of various sizes, from full-on rainforest houses or desert domes to small terrariums for things like scorpions or something.

But, once again, I think I was expecting too much from Microsoft.

What operating system do you run?

If Windows 7 you put them under Compuer > OSDisk (your C drive/main hard drive) . Program Files (x86) > Microsoft Games > Zoo Tycoon 2

I found a great site that provides many wonderful animals and objects that don't even require a full download process. I've finally made my zoos interesting and enjoyable. One of the fence packs even comes with an aviary. Beware though, some of the downloads will work but for some of them you need expansion packs (AA, ES, MM) If you don't know how to do it, here:

1. Click on the animal or object listed
2. Click "download here"
3. A new window will pop up with two to three contents with the animal or object's name.
4. Click and highlight those contents and drag them over into the Zoo Tycoon folder.
5. Enjoy!!! :)

Yes, I agree with timmydetapir. I hate to say it, but those downloads are mediocre compared to what's available out there.

Huh. Didn't expect that at all... I was going to say "it's too bad I won't be getting an XBox," but from those pictures and the trailers it doesn't look too spectacular. I was expecting more for something that's been defunct for so long, especially since the next generation of gaming has started.
