Now there are 4 spoonbill chicks.
We went to see family in Tampa so I got to check out Lowry this weekend. I really enjoyed it.
A month old male manatee calf was rescued, unfortunately they couldnt capture his mother with him so he will be bottle fed.

A male Lowland Nyala calf was born on exhibit on Thursday (I think).
A Bay Duiker was born recently.
A new female Grevy's Zebra has arrived at the zoo, and is in quarantine, it seems.

The 3-month old Okapi calf and his mom, Betty, now have access to the main outdoor yard each afternoon.
The Emerick family of Tampa named the 4 month-old Okapi calf at a recent zoo gala. He was given a Swati name, "Bahati," which means "lucky."

On May 9th the zoo welcomed a baby Indian Rhino. The male calf has been named Jiyu.
And if you want to extend the term "pachyderm" to "large herbivore", you can include Okapi and Lowland Nyala.

I'm very excited about all these births as, since I'm probably going to be at the zoo over the summer, I'll get to see my first Okapi calf, elephant calf, rhino calf, Pygmy Hippo calf, my first Pygmy Hippo, along with all of the new species that'll be new to me.

Today was the last day of DinoQuest.
On June 1st, the zoo re-introduced the guided tram ride (now renamed as Expedition Africa) in the Safari Africa exhibit.
According to the zoo replying to someone on Facebook, there is now only 1 male Cheetah at the zoo, when there used to be 2.
