The Sun-tailed guenon ( Cercopithecus solatus ) is a rare and little known monkey found in Gabon. It was discribed in 1988 but already in 1984 a single male was brought into captivity followed by 5 more during 1985 and 1986. 3 of them were housed in the primatology centre at the Centre International de Recherches Medicales de Franceville ( Gabon ) and the Station Biologique de Paimpont ( France )
At Franceville on January 20 1989 a male young was born and December 30 1990 a female was born to the same mother. ( source International Zooyear Book )
After this I've found no other information about this species. Does anyone know more how the groups at Franceville and Paimpont ( from which I had heared never before ) have done after 1990 and has the species been kept and bred at any other zoo / primate centre ?
Any information would be very welcome !
