Thanks to the new African Savanna complex and two holiday events, Hogle Zoo had its second highest attendance ever in 2014.

Thanks for posting. Hogle Zoo's attendance gains during the past decade have been extraordinary; 1.2 million is certainly an awesome number and the new exhibit complexes are the reason why the zoo has become much more popular. Asian Highlands, Rocky Shores and African Savanna are fantastic additions to what was a pretty disappointing zoo, and with the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (136,000 sq. ft.) and Tracy Aviary (top-class) nearby the Salt Lake City region is now a bit of a zoo mecca.

The Zoo's elderly African elephant, Dari, had a hard time getting up on her own, so a crane was needed to get her on her feet.

Does the zoo have any plans to add another elephant to the herd? If not, AZA might have to take away the two elephants already there.
