Jul. 2014 - Jungle Trails - Potto Exhibit (Reversed Lighting Off)

For some reason random nocturnal exhibits around the zoo lately have had their day lights on. Through these three weeks I've seen the Fennec Fox, Fishing Cat, Potto, Eurasian Eagle Owl, and Feather-tail Glider exhibit lights on.

Reactions: snowleopard
As far as I can see, his post was entirely polite and - more to the point - accurate as far as the lack of suitable enrichment and climbing opportunities for the species goes. If Moebelle feels the need to leave Zoochat because his favourite collection is receiving criticism, then so be it; it's a free world :)

I found this post quite humorous but yet again it underlines the point that many ZooChatters find criticism of their local zoo difficult to comprehend. While some folks (such as myself) see all the flaws of their local zoological establishment there are others that consider it poor manners to even make a cursory negative remark in the direction of their beloved zoo that can do no wrong. I also quite enjoyed Chlidonias's remark about the goldfish bowl as it appears to be an appropriate comment in regards to what is a bizarrely-landscaped potto enclosure.

I do agree with Moebelle slightly,in that negativity is semi common on this site (especially with certain members) but this is not unfounded criticism. In my opinion,I have yet to see an indoor exhibit that I find truly great,I've seen adequate exhibits, but one cannot call this exhibit adequate for an arboreal species. I know it's sometimes hard to point out flaws in our favorite establishments, but every zoo/aquarium has a sub-par area. This is not an attack on you,Moebelle,or even an attack on the exhibit. This is simply criticism on an exhibit that could use improvement.

And that's the way I like to hear it:)

What snowleopard seems to not realize is that he is contradicting himself after he has praised this attraction multiple times, calling it their best exhibit (Manatee Springs and World of the Insect are better in my book). What also people seem to not realize is that this attraction one an AZA Best Exhibit Award.

Moebelle stand up for what you believe in dont let peoples criticism get to your heart. Peoples opinions are like asses everybody has one.

You *do* realise that Shellheart's comment was also criticising this exhibit - or did you only read the first five words of sentence one and stop there? :p

You do realize what he did is called constructive criticism. He gave his points while realizing that all it is, is just just a simple prosimian exhibit.
