BC and UJ are the two areas at the SD Zoo in most obvious need of renovation (other than Elephant Odyssey). Do you think something could be done with the two together or is the elavation change between the two too steep to join them? What would be your overall plan for those areas?
Bear Grotto was built in the late 1950's to house Polar Bears. When the last Polar Bear died in 2003, the exhibit was occupied by Black Bears. The area also had exhibits for Cougars and Sheep. Bear Grotto was demolished and replaced by Rocky Shores in 2012.
