The Crocodile House was rebuilt just in the recent past in front of the Palm House. The Nile crocodiles also have indoor and outdoor enclosures. Inside the house the crocs share theirs pool with African cichlids. There is an oppurtinity for visitors to see the inside pool through glass panels...

One of the oldest buildings at London Zoo. The Decimus Burton house forms part of the cotton terraces which held a wide range of hoofstock many years ago. Now, the cotton terraces hold a smaller variety of animals. The Decimus Burton house has always held giraffes. Taken 2007

Me as a youngster visiting, or having been visisted by a persian leopard in the small cat house, around 1990..

A pair of cats, initially thought by me to be bobcats or one of the other lynx species. These were kept in the old small cat house, this particular pair were there around 1990. I enlarged the cats to see a bit more detail on the one looking :)

A caracal in the old cat house, sometime in the 90's. I am to assume it is around 1998, because the photograph was taken on kodak film, along with all the ones confirmed to be from that time.

The small mammal house at Chester Zoo was built in 1960 and demolished in 1998 to make way for an extension of the elephant enclosure. The Rhinoceros House can be seen on the left. The concrete enclosures stood either side of the entrance, and when the house was refurbished they were replaced...
