14 Years of Zoochat: A Retrospective

I always like to think that Aussie-Kiwi relations are similar to American-Canadian relations, with Aussies being the Americans and Kiwis being the Canadians.

I've always thought they're really like Welsh-English jokes. The accents, the sheep-related-err-activities...

At least our accent doesn't make deck sound like dick.
that guy sounds like he doesn't know whether he's trying to do a South African accent or a New Zealand one. It's like when the Simpsons are doing Australians and they sound the same as when they're doing British.

I once took a coach tour to France crossing the channel by ferry. Each of the ferry's decks was denoted by an animal symbol and our coach was parked on elephant deck. The guide on the trip was from New Zealand and she warned us against forgetting where the coach was parked. 'Remember' she said 'The coach is parked on elephant dick' I never did forget where it was parked.

I was thinking Ireland... :p

It does strike me as odd that Brit's will travel to the other side of the world to end up in what looks like Wales but with more interesting birds!
I know! And New Zealanders will do much the same in opposite, except England doesn't have anything interesting. I don't get it.

Me neither, I suppose we have a bit more culture and a richer history but other than that I'm at a loss! ;)

mm, New Zealand doesn't really have either of those things. We do have a castle.

A real castle? Well I never knew that. Any particular reason why there's a castle in New Zealand? Not exactly a common building to have in a recently developed country.

Which is why Australians like the following joke:
What's the difference between New Zealand and tub of yoghurt?
Yoghurt has a culture.

:p

Hix

This made me laugh, as I've heard variations of this joke told here as well. About Australia. ;)

New Zealanders have a joke too. You're not the only one with a joke.
