20/21 Football Season

Not me, but it was a better bet than Liverpool winning!!

I support Liverpool, been to Anfield 100's of times. Top of the league at Christmas, walked the league last year, and now.....?????
I know we have plenty of injuries, but this streak of results since early January is absolutely ridiculous, Even Everton beat us and they are terrible
Can't wait to get fans back at football matches, fans make football what it is.

5 first team CB out, had some many injuries to key midfielders and then when fit playing at CB. Going knock the whole team off, it was going ok but then referring decisions have been horrendous to us. Other teams are getting decisions we are not, then factor in no crowd. I can see why we are not at the best.

Cannot wait to back in Anfield giving the team support it deserves and needs.

Leicester have a bad injury list but they haven't lost 6 in a row at home (and drawn the 2 before). The problem is you can't score a goal, your fab 3 haven't been injured so excuses are pointless, you have been rumbled. Dream on if you think the return of virgil will put you at the top again! City And United ( Bruno!) now are streets ahead ( Chelsea, Leicester and others at least your equal)!!

Discuss predictions, XI's, anything to do with any league in the 20/21 season

AFL doesn't start for another couple of weeks - for week 1, I'm going to say:
  • Port Adelaide over North Melbourne
  • Brisbane Lions over Sydney Swans
  • Richmond over Carlton
  • Geelong over Adelaide Crows
  • West Coast Eagles over Gold Coast Suns
  • St Kilda over GWS Giants
  • Western Bulldogs over Collingwood
  • Melbourne over Freemantle Dockers
  • Essendon over Hawthorn
The AFLW is already in round 6, I reckon the Adelaide Crows have a good chance to take out the premiership - those women are point scoring machines! I reckon Crows vs Lions for the grand final.

You did say "any league" :P

I would pick all the same, except I think Hawthorn will beat Essendon, being a Hawthorn supporter. :p May I ask which team you go for?

To be honest, I stopped following the AFL a while back - I don't have time to watch matches and there are other things that interest me more these days (F1 and Athletics are the two sports I follow).

Despite living in Sydney for the past 23 years, I'm still a South Australian at heart - so I don't support the Swans or GWS.

Indeed, I have a strong dislike for GWS because they stole my physiotherapist - he was amazing, the first person in nearly 20 years of treatment who actually identified the root cause of the neck issues that were causing my migraines and helped me learn how to self-treat to manage them.

Then he got headhunted by GWS and stopped consulting privately to be their head physio until a few years ago.

I actually grew up supporting Port Adelaide in the SANFL before the AFL started but then our only AFL club was the Adelaide Crows, so that was who I had to support. Now that we have Port Adelaide in the AFL as well, I'm torn - do I continue to support the Crows or switch back to the Power?

In reality - I don't actually care enough anymore - though I'd probably lean towards the Crows if pushed to choose a single team.

Leicester wont finsih top 4 and have a bad injury list, yes. Southampton like Liverpool and Leicester had good first half seasons, then injury crisis. I've been a proper fan for years and this season is crazy. A combination of no fans, a wonky VAR system and everyone playing at different times.

PS Liverpool's top three not firing is because we have no defence or midfield, kind of like a Ferrari body without an engine, or an average engine at best. Still 6 home defeats in a row is unique

A year ago today I attended one of the last games to go ahead in the UK with full capacity, that game should never have gone ahead.

I miss it so much. I had not missed a game in years, the only upside is the money saved.

For those who miss going to games in particular, do you watch the live games with or without artificial crowd noise on? I personally really like it without and enjoy hearing the coaching staff.
During a recent Man UTD v liverpool game, I'm sure I heard Klopp scream at his own staff etc for protesting about a tackle that he rightly saw as being fair.

I prefer it with no sound whats so ever so I don't have to here the poor commentary teams we have coving games.

I will try and watch Liverpool games without the noise as I am already invested and don't notice it but if I watch a game not involving Liverpool I will have it on mostly to laugh at the poor timing of the change in crowd noise.

I don't get how anyone can enjoy watching football on TV having surrffered a year of it.

A work colleague of my missus and her boyfriend went to that game. Within a few days the young woman who went the match was ill for a few days, then my missus had no sense of smell or taste for about 2 weeks, well before smell or taste was a symptom. Nothing happened to me.

Remember debating whether it was safe to go but mostly due to A. Madrid fans being allowed over as it wasn't wide spread or not reported to be.

I decided to go in the end due to how I travel to week night games and that my ticket was in the kop. Feels like so much longer than a year.
