It is yet to be noted on here, but the zoo announced the death of male Komodo Dragon "Trooper" at the end of May. He passed away after a short illness.
So has that left them with 0 komodo dragons?
Have all the small dragons moved on? I've not been in there for a long time.
last time i visited the komodo enclosure had a sign saying it was being re-developed. Does anyone know what they are doing to it?
There are now 7 red-breasted goslings on show in the new bird rearing house, and in the new aviaries behind the banteng, are two parrot species. The birds on the left are grey-breasted conures, the birds on the right I have not been able to identify.
There were also two pelicans just about visible in the back paddock of the rearing house on Tuesday. Looked like Dalmatians but couldn't swear to it.
There is now a sign for Black Lion Tamarins on the West side of Miniature Monkeys. Eastern Pygmy Marmosets are still present, though I saw no Black-Tailed Marmosets and their sign has been removed.
Black Lion Tamarins? Hope this is true, would be great for the walk and talk!![]()
Congrats to the Rhino Team on another important rhino birth for a first time mother!
