The Edinburgh zoo blog, reports the arrival of the 2 female drill, but rather interestingly says that they have come from a continental zoo, which to me means Europe not north America.

I agree with you 100% Kiang, anyone who visits Edinburgh zoo and comes away feeling that they haven't seen an exceptional collection of wildlife must be very hard to please.
Can you please expand on the U.K first`s bit because I`m confussed by what you mean!!I agree! There can't be many other UK zoos which have had more UK firsts then Edinburgh!

That would make sense as they have more then there fair share of the only 1 in the U.K.Perhaps meant UK onlys

The new website info on the animals in the collection was written by the keepers, hence the more detailed info!
As for the new chimps, no definate date has been set yet for their arrival but it probably wont be until around Feb 2010 to allow health checks etc to be carried out on the new individuals prior to transport to Edinburgh.
Well, they have made it 100% more interesting for anyone who reads it...
Thanks for the update on the Chimpanzees also. Looking forward to their arrival.
