Howett's wild animal park just announced that their matriarchal herd will be leaving to head to Kenya in a processes known as rewilding ! The only elephant that wont be will be Coco. All though it is exciting to hear that the herd will be moving their home land this move could very well lead to the the death of the herd, as the herds matriarch Tammi is captive born and doesn't know that lay of the land, at least for elephants that were rescued from the wild as calves at least they know the lay of the land. And the calves are very vulnerable as they have never known drought or predator's and the
greed of man they have only ever known kindness from us humans. And the herds youngest and even their Matriarch Tammi have known humans their entire lives and releasing them back into the wild would be very dangerous.
Mammoth journey ahead as elephants leave Kent zoo for the Kenyan savannah
