I did.Do you mean Chinese Alligator?
Spent a few hours at Akron today. The zoo was absolutely packed for the inclusion day events.
- White naped Cranes are back in the former vulture exhibit in Legends
- Coyotes and red Wolves were the most active I think I've seen them be. The wolves and coyotes would occasionally run up and down the fence with the other ones in the back yard.
- 2nd exhibit in Madagascar was signed as off exhibit.
- New signage for the Lemurs is being added in Madagascar.
- I did notice a sign remains for blue eye lemurs, a species they haven't held in a few years now.
- Snow Leopard and tigers were no shows
- No changes to the former Jaguar exhibit yet.
The Asian mixed exhibit was closed for the Avian flu so I'm guessing once they go back there construction might begin on the Snow Leopard expansion. The cranes are probably placeholders until construction begins. Their temporary removal from the tufted deer habitat will allow for an eventual new female deer to get adjusted before they are reintroduced.

Probably as part of the Legends renovation this year. Also do you know if the Swans are permanent for the Jaguar exhibit or is someone else coming in?I think the Madagascar Building is going to get renovated in the near future. It is likely becoming a primate building with the lemurs being phased out.

- Tai Lung the snow leopard was a no show
- Lulu the red panda is still at the zoo.
- Mixed Exhibit in Legends is reopened. Only saw the geese, no Tufted Deer.
- A new playground is being built in Zoo Gardens, next to the bathroom building.
- Viewing shelter for the coyotes is closed off. The coyotes themselves were on exhibit.
- Tomato Frog in Komodo Kingdom was off exhibit.
- Padar was the Komodo Dragon on exhibit again.
- (Happened last visit but forgot to record it then) A Puerto Rican Boa is now on exhibit in Curious Creatures, replacing the Jackson Chameleon.
- What I believe are the Trumpeter Swans from the Waterfowl pond have moved into the old Jaguar exhibit. There's no signage for the birds so I could be mistaken on the species. I've included a photo below:
Went to the zoo today for the “Wear Blue Get in Free” day.
- Jasper was the Komodo dragon on exhibit today.
- Coyotes and snow leopard were a no show. The coyote viewing shelter is reopened but part of the glass is covered up
- Barn owl exhibit is covered up with a sign saying the owl needs privacy.
- No guineafowl or speke’s gazelle again in Africa, just the white storks.
- Was finally able to see the golden lion tamarins in Komodo Kingdom
- Norman the Tufted Deer was back on exhibit.
- Tomato frog is still off exhibit.
- Funny story - a couple of people thought the swans were in the wrong exhibit since the entire exhibit is themed to Jaguars still. I wonder if the temple theming will change if jaguars don’t return to the zoo.
One more hint for Legends - Bird or mammal? The jaguar habitat theming will have to change for what is likely going in that habitat. Here is a hint. The likely future resident will not mind the Ohio winters.
Something new is likely going the yard habitat in Pride. The hint is on the map.
