Amur Leopards in Europe

The latest litter at Tallinn have now been sexed as... three females! :D
All healthy and doing well so far. An excellent addition to the EEP

Brilliant news; I can see them being moved to YWP or/and Twycross (when they are old enough) if they haven't received a female by then. Maybe if Mulhouse' female cub from last year is moved to Twycross and a female from Tallinn is moved to YWP - I don't know the relation between Twcross and Mulhouse but YWP's males are full sibling to Mulhouse' female cub.

The Mother of the breeding female at Mulhouse (Elixa) is Atas from Olomouc.
The Mother of the male at Twycross ist also born in Olomouc, mother is Atas, too.

So, the cub in Mulhouse and the single male in Twycross have the same grandmother from Olomouc.

JJ97, your wish for the UK is obviously not an EEP command ... and goodness be that not unwelcome. ;)

First of all, there is a seriously lack of suitable breeding age females within the EEP and these females of recommended and good bloodlines will need to be absorbed into suitable breeding combos. Aside, we still need to look at the next phase of the in situ conservation program with possible reintroducees from the ex situ captive-breeding program.

For the latter, I advocate using some of the surplus surrogate males first. Once the process in the Russian Far East is deemed successful, it would then be up to the zoo and wild animal management authorities to identify suitable females and males from within the breeding program, take out the surrogate males and put in the females first into home ranges and latter on some males to make pairings possible. Obviously, this will be a really challenging project, but not impossible (given the recent felid reintroduction successes elsewhere).

Never realised until this evening that there is a pair (1:1 apparently) of Amur Leopard at Cat Survival Trust in Welwyn, Herts. Anyone know where they originate from? Been there since at least 2008 from what I can gather.. thanks in advance

Couple of updates:

Cubs at WHF are now sexed as a male and a female

Copenhagen Zoo have announced the birth of two cubs on 27th July. So far unsexed

Which male leopard has breed in WHF?

In Copenhagen Breeding pair is still the male from St. Cricket and Hailar from Frankfurt?

I will try. I post only animals which are still living:
Olomouc, Czech Republik
0,1 Atas, born 12.07.1996 Kaunas, 21.12.1998 Hodenhagen, 18.12.2000 Praha, 23.04.2001 Olomouc
0,1 Izabela/Izi, born 26.05.2002 Olomouc, Edward x Atas
1,0 Chobby/Terry, born 22.02.2008 Olomouc, Edward x Izi

Chobby/Terry is now at Minnesota Zoo, USA (and has already sired his first litter)

What's happening at Agrate with regards to Calvin? With a new male expected from Tallinn for his daughter soon, surely there must be a studbook recommendation pending for him too?

Can't help with Copenhagen, but it was Hogar that sired the latest litter at WHF

Reports on one of the French forums, that Kathanga from Mulhouse was moved to Novosibirsk in July along with one of the male triplets from LPDF's 2010 litter
